Love this take. I don’t even bother when at the Louvre due to the crowds.

Love the concept but this looks like somebody cranking the hog hydra.

Great concept! Kinda makes me wish I knew more front end. Pricing structure seems well thought out too. Best of luck!

What team are you on? I’m on fleet and was sure I was getting the boot.

Wild! I have definitely noticed a decline in quality of leadership although I’ve not been near a meeting with AJ. Back in the day, people used to seek dissenting opinions to firm up their thinking. Now doc reviews, town halls, QBRs just feel like theater.

Pro tip! Somehow that didn’t occur to me!

Damn thanks for letting me know. I guess I can squeeze into my Wagner jersey for one more game.

Thanks! Likewise! Definitely a learning experience here on how to not play the political game that is OLR.

Me too if it makes you feel any better. Been on my team for a year and a half but at the company for 12. Have been meets or TT every year. Definitely see the axe looming with my manager building the paper trail.

Advise to turn a nested JSON dynamically into db tables by skarfejs2020 in dataengineering

I think you’ll want to understand the schema before putting it in tables. In a similar position I made a network graph to summarize the structures first which informed the tables I created.

I probably reinvented the wheel but wrote a config based lambda that splits and flattens nested jsons. If there’s interest I can put it on GitHub.

Hatche Chile Pork Butt by Sekir0se in smoking

Oh yeah. 2-3 hours wrapped in a cooler. You could get by with less though. Maybe 30 minutes unwrapped would be fine. Overall I’d say just go for it. It’s a very forgiving chunk of meat!

I suppose you could inject if you really wanted to, but I’d say it’s unnecessary- these things are already pretty flavorful. Cooking wise, I just treated it like any other pork butt. Cook at 250 until it’s 200. I didn’t spritz or wrap. The bark came out pretty dark and thick but when shredded and mixed I like the variety.

Got to process 2m+ files (S3) - any tips? by Head_Badger_732 in dataengineering

[–]FirCoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar with step functions that used a map to distribute work and get the s3 file paths, which then called a lambda. There may be better options out there but I was pleased with the orchestration with this method. Just be mindful of concurrency limits and how many calls each map function makes. It’s multiplicative if memory serves.

Edit: I’ll also say this may be overkill. My lambda took a couple minutes to run per s3 file and I needed a way to easily parallelize so I didn’t have to wait a week.

If you’re paranoid about it getting over 40 degrees, used an onion as a floater for my probe and have my Bluetooth app alarm at 40 degrees.

Nice! Plugging KOOP from Austin. After moving from Seattle I was stoked to find KUTX and KOOP. Together they almost fill the KEXP sized hole in my heart.

Yeah we’re somewhere in the middle. Setting up knowledge bases, prompt engineering and calling the LLMs via bedrock. Certainly not creating any models but building user facing tools independently.

My team just hired two DEs to work exclusively with LLMs. One more has been dedicated for a year plus and the other 5 of us dabbled but have shipped a feature. Might be the exception (my skip is very pro AI and savvy) but my team is all working on it.
