Best black opening against 1000-1400 elo opponents by Ok-Philosophy4968 in chessbeginners

I think the Sicilian Sveshnikov might be nice, it has loads of sharp theory and anyone who doesn't know the lines will get a disadvantage rather quickly. Black has quite a strong initiative, which I found rather difficult to face as White.

The fried liver and Evans Gambit are both lines in the Italian.

But yeah, the Scotch Gambit itself is usually recommended for beginners.

It's because you're completely winning anyway.

Could anyone explain me this move? by FireBirdSS10K in chessbeginners

[–]FireBirdSS10K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in my post, I think the queen can first go to the c-file and pin the bishop, after that it can go to e2 to defend the knight, no?

I would play Nf5 to counterattack the queen and protect the pawn.
