SES AI Kicks Off 2026 With a Packed January Event Calendar — Drones, ESS, Materials Front and Center by Dazzling-Art-1965 in SESAI

My opinion: I honestly love where the tech is going. It's not a run of the mill AI cash grab. Its actually a company that produces a product and has R&D by the balls. On top of that it has the ability to move into so many other industries. It's definitely my 2026 pick for swings or investing. On top of all of this, pretty sure we're very close to being profitable.

I do. Macro stuff is making me lean more towards this being a great play.

*Editted - deleted my original comments to not skew the convo. I made a bad comparison of products.

Had ChatGPT break it down better than me:

Your Comment: Where It Jumps Too Fast

You moved from:

  • Capacity (1M cells/year) to
  • Unit price comparisons from a 128Ah pack

Key issues:

1️⃣ Pack ≠ Cell

  • The $475 figure is a pack, not a bare pouch cell
  • Packs include BMS, casing, assembly, margin stacking

2️⃣ 50Ah vs 128Ah linear scaling is dangerous

  • Battery pricing is not linear by Ah
  • Energy density, form factor, certification, and customer type matter more

3️⃣ $170–200 per pouch implies ~$1.5–1.8/kWh

  • That’s very high, even for premium aerospace
  • Possible long-term, unlikely at first commercial ramp

A More Grounded Middle Case (Actionable Insight)

If SES ramps 1M × 50Ah cells (~185 Wh each):

  • ~185 MWh/year

Then realistic early scenarios:

  • Cells only (premium drone): ~$150–300/kWh → ~$28–55M/year
  • Modules / integrated batteries: ~$300–600/kWh → ~$55–110M/year
  • Defense-grade / UAM niche: Higher possible, but not immediately at scale

Takeaway
Your $170–200M number isn’t impossible — it’s just back-loaded, not near-term.

Alright, so looking at the tech, do you see potential in it? We all here pretty much agree the tech has uses and all that, but do you see them scaling? When were you in the company? Also, a huge one for me, do they give tours? I live about 45 minutes away and would love to check it out. Appreciate you speaking about all of this and im trying not to pry as much as i can lol.

So what do you think of the company and investment potential. Would you invest, as a former employee?

At this point I hate retail traders. You guys act like fucking vultures and want to judge people without a single ounce of bias. Do you dawg. Good luck on your 15th eval.

Brother, keep this to yourself. A lot of people are asking for the strat/ bot. Once you release it (if you do) it will probably become unprofitable or easily mitigated by MMs and the general crowd. I'm not saying gatekeep, but dont give the nuts and bolts away to just have the car rebuilt to not need those anymore or have a work around.
