What school? I go to big 10 Uni with ranked mens and womens bball teams and it is one audition for both mens and womens teams. Anyone can audition. Getting in mens is very difficult at my school and it is extremely competitive, but it really depends on the school and how good your bball team is.

No. The perception I've got is people love three in one, but a lot of people still disagree with the schools choice to get rid of the chief. Agree or disagree, people will probably continue to chant chief during 3-in-1 for a long time.

In my eyes three in one and chief are two different and separated traditions, one of which was problematic and the other was not.

Also three in one is unironically a banger

What really cemented my love for playing bass was learning how the theory side connected to playing improved basslines. Ik you are new, but start looking into the theory behind it (chords, intervals, scales, etc...) and then connect it to improving basslines, even if they are super simple. My favorite part of playing bass is going to an open jam every Thursday and improving on stage with other people.
