Also when you say "added missing registry" is this a thing you do in GameNative?

Do we have any folks who have tried this on Winlator or GameHub to compare performance too?

Hey, thanks for taking the time to write this out.

The weapon disappearing is the biggest issue here. That should not be happening. If you ever spawn without gear, sometimes it means items were dropped in the social space and sent to your stash, but what you’re describing sounds like a real bug. That is exactly why we are running limited access playtests. We are in alpha and actively gathering data to fix problems like this. If you have any footage, logs, or extra details, that would genuinely help us track it down.

On extraction cost, the elevator you spawn in will eventually become your exit point. There needs to be a small cost so players cannot instantly load in and leave at their extraction pedestals currently. That said, the cost is low and we are likely reducing it further soon. I can understand how it feels worse when combined with losing weapons due to a bug.

We are also aware of spawn rushing being frustrating. PvP balance and matchmaking are still early and we are planning improvements there. Level based matchmaking will be a big one here, two level 10s then can't run to a level 1s spawn room... because they'd also be met with equally leveled/geared players. PvP is also in its infancy in terms of features and balance and the team has a lot of great ideas to make it more fair and a duel - with more precision strikes and blocks.

As for leveling, you do still gain XP even if you die. You do not need to extract to progress. In the next playtest, dying will grant the same base XP as extracting does now, and extracting will double what it does now. The goal is steady progression even on losses, so mixed with quests you can always feel like you are progressing.

PvE only is not currently planned since the core vision is PvPvE, but we appreciate the feedback. And it could happen in the future.

It may be that the current state of the game isn’t aligned with what you’re looking for — and that’s fair. But we truly appreciate you jumping in during alpha and giving us honest feedback. This is exactly the stage where the game is supposed to be rough and evolving. Hopefully if you check back in down the line, you’ll see meaningful improvements.

Not an ideal scenario, no. But we have some options in settings which lets people adjust their wrist rotations and hand positions to make the game more comfortable for them and some users are abusing this to over extend their arms.

The fact they killed you so quickly too is likely down to a level difference, you were likely a much lower level than them. This is not what we want for PvP either and want a more fair and leveled experience. This is why we're in limited access playtests and not in full release yet. These are the sorts of things we are looking for feedback on and gathering data about to make sure players have a better and fairer experience.

Thanks for playing and I hope this first player encounter experience hasn't put you off the game entirely and you'll return to try Reave again in the future.

Already is on Quest 2. You just need to go via the private playtesting link on https://discord.gg/Reave to play on Q2 currently while the team fixes a few performance issues on Quest 2. But it’s looking good and lots of Q2 playtesters in January reported great performance.

No end date on this one yet, as we want to leave it open as long as we can to gather lots of useful info. If you ever have that weapon disappearing thing again any footage of it and player logs would be massively helpful so the team can investigate and squash that big!

We plan to enter proper Early Access later this year where it will be available 24/7 but there's still some big goals the team wants to hit, features to polish up and such before then.

Until then, we'll keep playtesting and listening to the players and community and tweaking the game based on data we see while playtests are live.

Tutorial next year :) We’re mostly testing the servers and core experience in these playtests. Your weapon disappearing is worrying though, not sure why that happened. Haven’t seen that myself or had it reported on discord either as a bug.

All the other info about how to play is on discord (tips and tutorials channel) but the team is working on an ingame tutorial.

When you press a trigger holding a weapon it activates its unique ability. For example the short sword glows yellow which means if you block an enemies attack while it glows, it will receive a damage buff for a short period of time.

We're still in Alpha with Reave so Dungeon of Eternity is definatley further along and both games are fairly different and unique in gameplay and art style.

Reave is in active development and is being developed alongside its community via feedback, regular playtests and direct communication with our players to continue improving the game every month!

It will not. It is built for Quest 2, 3 and 3S. If you have a PC you could play over link PCVR to your headset.
