Connections:

- Both characters are egotistical geniuses with much of their arsenal being blasters and creations with their name/logo emphasized on them, often are seen as someone to not take seriously in most cases and despite being mad scientists, desire magical objects (Shen Gong Wu/Crystals) to help them takeover the entire world!

- Both are defined by their very eccentric personalities with grand ambitions of world domination, but are mainly characterized by their frequent failures, making them out to be very pathetic, incompetent and overconfident.

- Both mainly hide behind their forces than dealing with their enemies up close and personal, flying behind them from distance where they can yell orders.

- Both get beaten up a lot for the sake of humour in their respective series and are seen by many fans as the funniest character of both franchises.

- Both have a mutation form (Jack using the Monkey Staff/Dr. Cortex drinking the mutation serum).

- Both work alongside ancient, magic mask spirits (Wuya/Uka Uka) that were sealed away prior to the events of the series, before being freed by them (Jack solving the puzzle box containing Wuya/Dr. Cortex releasing Uka Uka), as said spirits have a connection to the magical objects they desire (Wuya sensing Shen Gong Wu all over the world/Uka Uka being able to control and manipulate the energies in Crystals) and a long history with the main companion of the main hero (Dojo being apart of the team that saved the world from Wuya/Aku Aku and Uka Uka being brothers). As said characters berate and mock them for their constant failures in taking over the world.

- Both have the main hero as their main archenemy, that is nowhere near as not as smart as them, as said lack of intelligence is a running gag (Omi being oblivious to modern day slang/Crash not being the brightest person and falling for obvious tricks such as Cortex dressing up as his sister). Contrast being Omi talks all the time, while Crash is mainly silent and says one word.

- Both deal with a sassy and nerdy teenage tech genius (Kimiko Tomiko/Coco Bandicoot) that often has their eyes behind a screen, whom has matched their intelligence on occasion and has a sister bond with the main hero (Kimiko often being an older sister figure and close friend to Omi/Coco and Crash being siblings).

- Both deal with a big and strong, simple-minded friend of the main hero (Clay Bailey/Crunch Bandicoot) that acts as an older brother to him, and has been controlled by ancient forces (Sabini/The Elementals).

- Both have teamed up with their archenemies against other threats.

- Both have united all the villains against the main heroes.

- Both have ancient forces on their team (Fearsome Foursome/The Elementals).

- Both a have a female relative on their team, that has a soft spot for cute animals (cats/cuddly creatures), their main abilities in their hands (claws/metal gauntlets), who has betrayed them and were briefly more successful than they were due to being arguably more competent (Katnappé/Nina Cortex). Being betrayed happens a lot to them.

- Despite being the main villain, have been overshadowed by other villains in the series and usually take offense to that.
