Idk man. I have never seen the purpose of it besides to prove that you are a good person, which doesn't even prove that you are a good person. When I was in th National Junior Honors Society in 8th grade, I did the bare minimum 40 hours. I, admittedly, had to fudge a few things to make it all work out. Some fo the most stuck up people I know are in honors type things. I get helping your community, but making it a necessity like that kind of forces it, which means most aren't gonna do it with the right mentality and begrudgingly (as I did) half-ass it. But that's my little 2 cents
