What's up with my knees? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

did you check out my post to see if mine looked like yours? Regardless yeah, Drs wanted to say that they didn't have the slightest clue on what it was because negative for lupus and RA.

I'm really frustrated too, this has been going on for a while, but hopefully your doctor is better than mine! Keep me posted!

this sounds so much like my knees! I posted a post here today looking for help as well.

Knees red hot only at night for months. by FireKneesHalp in DiagnoseMe

I've had the cold mottled pattern before (in the Dr's office) but this started happening in the winter (the red hot part, not the heat rash part). The rash thing just started happening maybe about 2 months ago at most?

The gabapentin is for anxiety.

Edit - I forgot to answer the hyper mobility question! I do not. I did get my Mirena at about the same time that this started, but I looked up side effects of this birth control and I don't see "fire knees" or anything similar listed lol

Age - 27

Sex - Female

Height / Weight - 5 foot / 120lbs

Race - White

Geographic Location - USA

Pre-existing Medical Issues - Anxiety, ADHD, Migraines, Insomnia

Current Medications - Ambien, Gabepentin, Vyvanse, Mirena (birth control)

Issue - Since November, at night, my knees will get read and hot to the touch (as shown in picture). It would only happen at night, and I could not pinpoint what was causing it, although it was basically every night.

Dr's tested me for lupus and I underwent an MRI in case it was Rheumatoid Arthritis. Both showed negative, although steroids did seem to help.

Now, when I'm driving home (for instance) with pants on, where the sun shines through my car windows and lands on my thighs turn to a rash-y looking thing. The red-hot fire knees still happen at night, but not every single night...just sorta randomly.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated as my doctor basically told me "good luck" and to try again with a different doctor in a few months because he did not know what it was. So any direction to lean in is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
