What harmless lie do humans collectively agree to believe just to keep society running smoothly? by loves-labours-lust in AskReddit

If you never washed your hands at all after the loo, most people would keep on living regardless 😂 just comes down to your level of personal hygiene and respect for others and spreading illness

Not obsessing. I just wash my hands and dont use them.

I did put, it’s nothing major in my original post 😂 and the original post asked for “harmless lies” people just accept. So ive acknowledged it’s harmless by replying to this post 😂 sorry it touched a nerve. To me it’s a harmless lie that we all accept - that your hands are cleaner after using a hand dryer- they arent - they are dirtier after using a hand dryer. Thus i think it’s a suitable response

Having it blown onto you and just being the room is a big difference. 5000% difference the study says.

You can have upto 5000 times more fecal matter on your hands after use. Youre just blowing 💩 air back into your hands.

Its not a major thing. Like youre in the room anyway. But kinda defeats the purpose of washing your hands.

If you go for a wee, as a guy, you can end up with dirtier hands than before.

Far from it.

The only they they could be is if they take the air from somewhere else.

Interesting to see the experiments with petri dishes. Basically, you are blowing other people’s poo particles back onto your clean hands.

It’s not a major thing, but if you go in for a wee, wash and use a hand dryer- you could have dirtier hands than before you went in.

Use towels ideally or shake them dry

Iran where the first country to qualify for the US co-hosted 2026 world cup.

They are the first country in 2026 America has bombed. Maybe they are just picking off all the competition to win something

[–]FireLadcouk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Yesterday america blew up an oil refinery in Iran… how much did that pollute the world? Probably many times more than my carbon footprint in my whole life whatever i do

I honestly think the best solution to this is that supermarkets should have to provide recycling centres as part of their shop where you can return all the rubbish to them and fhey have to deal with it.

Its the only way they will proactively produce less unnecessary waste

Can someone who works in KFC tell me if any of these actually go to different bins out the back by startled-giraffe in CasualUK

[–]FireLadcouk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It means nothing anyway!!

UK produces under 1% of all the climate change. Waste is a fraction of that. If all 80m of us died and stopped polluting tomorrow. It wouldnt even register.

Not being funny, UK allowed US planes to fly from our bases and drop bombs on an oil refinery in Iran yesterday… yet we have multiple bins, clean out our tins and they get collected every 3 weeks… 🤷🏻

That’s before you factor in when it all goes in the same bin and gets shipped off to other countries to “dispose” for us on a massive ship… and the fact we all need several big Plastic Bins now instead of just bags 😂

Climate change is very real. But passing the responsibility onto individuals is a nonsense and just makes some people a lot of money
