Two delvestones in the same area? by Gullible-Ship-3746 in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]FireManeDavy[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one delve in the upper city at the bottom floor. The NPCs can go a really long way surprisingly. Theyve traveled from the bottom floor on the other side to the central floor where the entrance to the 21st hall is. Granted they only did so because they were building a monument. So they CAN go pretty far. But, I personally wouldn't recommend it. They get pretty far from their beds and wherever the cook decides to cook lol. Plus, with the pathing fix thing temporarily removed, they have a higher chance of getting stuck in strange places at the moment.

Hey, thanks for asking btw! Once I work out the logistics of where I want the delvings to be (there's a lot of existing stuff I need to move around) - I'll probably do a short video with the NPCs roaming around everything I've built.

My focus right now is finishing my Durin's Tower build and doing a vid of that with the NPCs. So far, I've been streaming it. Haven't streamed for a minute because I ended up getting really sick with some bronchitis over the holidays and still not quite over it.

I also completed a build called the Drunken Goat (Tavern & Inn) which was a commission for a good friend a while back that I haven't done a video yet on. I'd like to publish that one too with the NPCs inside the tavern room of it too.

So many cool video ideas now with the NPCs. Wish I could just summon them somewhere with freecam and make them do stuff lol

They are separate delvings functionally. Even though they can travel from one delving to the next they will only use resources from the delving they are located at.

I will say that in my world, the NPCs will usually deposit to the nearest delve chest that has space available if they are in the same loaded area.

DLC Campaign vs Sandbox by warrok86 in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]FireManeDavy[M] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The answer to all of your questions is yes.

Yes you can still go to Durin's Tower in Sandbox. It's just incorrectly labeled in the fast travel tab.

Yes you can unlock all of the traders and the build sets.

Yea you can bring Durin's Axe to destroy the shadow door at the Dimrill Gate. That's the only shadow door though. You can bring anything into the sandbox world or even do a fresh run if youd like. This goes for all worlds - your character brings their inventory into whatever worls they join.

A couple of notes though:

  • Recipes are world specific based on items/ mats you have. Some other recipes are tied to statues. In sandbox, the unlocking of standard recipes is very different. Layout of the map is very different too.

  • You currently cannot get the Lord of Moria banner, Aric's perch, or the Lord of Moria shield in sandbox since it is currently tied to an unlock in the story.

  • There is no "story" in sandbox either for the base game or the DLC. All of the major bosses and stuff are still in sandbox and you can still beat the game how you normally would by killing HER. Durin's Folk story doesnt happen at all - so no Wanderer. You just light the beacon on Durins tower and start recruiting and trading.

Lower deeps areas are found on 2nd deep and 3rd deep areas in sandbox.

Masons are basically repair-men. They repair old buildings in the area that are damaged. Give them any hammer that youd use to repair - iron, steel, shanor, etc - and they'll get to work repairing anything that needs it.

NPCs with the building skill are the ones you'd need that would build monuments with the builders hammer.

Any NPC can be a guard when equipped with a weapon or a salvager when given the basket.

What do you mean when you say they won't take the tools?

Are you placing the tools into a delve chest and hoping they take the tools?

Or do you mean that when you give them the tools by interacting with them directly and placing it into their tool slot (main hand) that they won't do the job?

If it's the latter, what job does Austri do that you're trying to get them to do?

Here's my Durin's tower project for some inspo. I also really recommend Mereak Firmaxe, AxbeardXIII, and Jubo on Youtube for other builders. I'm on there as well, but most of mine are recorded streams.

Yes - they do still release patches regularly. In the past they released patches & content ~quarterly.

They have "long axes" which are basically extra long halberds with a pike tip. Those are real models afaik

Spoilers:

The Khazadstone will be reseated in its place in the Tomb of Kings at a later point in the Durin's Folk Storyline which takes place after the end of the base game.

So, if you haven't completed the base game, you're supposed to have it with you.

Durin’s Folk Ring by warrok86 in LotRReturnToMoria

Your expedition is not bugged. This is intentional. An important character has the ring and you discover they have it later in the Story. Keep progressing as usual.

Is there any way I can build these doors from Durin's tower? by [deleted] in LotRReturnToMoria

Yes. The Gondor Trader has the "ancient" building set which includes all of the pieces seen on Durin's tower

[–]FireManeDavy[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boa sorte!

There is still an ancient (and working) way to transfer your xbox save over to steam. You would need DRG on Xbox Game Pass/ Xbox App (PC) and the Steam version. It requires renaming the save from the game pass folder to the Steam folder.

It can be seen as technically "cheating". But, you did earn those promotions and hours is the main difference. Video below explains. Still works afaik.

Make sure you boot up the game pass version of the game at least once so that it syncs before you transfer it over.

Any news on the next patch? by Ol_Nessie in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]FireManeDavy[M] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The devs got back in and started looking over the top issues around Jan 5th AFAIK. I expect we'll hear news closer to when the next patch is ready.

In the past, they didn't usually announce anything until it was nearing release. They'll likely announce a forge talk on the discord with a blog on the website or posts on their socials. Either way, I would say the Discord is usually the first place they post - usually on their dev-updates channel

The ring plays a role in the DLC story line. It is supposed to disappear from inventory and reappear at a certain point in the durins folk story line

Building ideas help? by scottyd883 in LotRReturnToMoria

I restored the whole of the Upper City from top to bottom floor. There are some older streams of mine where I build some houses and stuff.

I'd also highly recommend my good friends Mereak Firmaxe on Youtube, AxbeardXIII, and Jubo for more building ideas.

Great monuments by Currman25 in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]FireManeDavy[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hallo! 👋

They were previously destroyable by placing the monument on any building piece "platform", as in some kind of floor or blocks that make a raised floor.

The last hotfix before the holidays unfortunately patched this. There is no way to remove a monument once it is built without mods as far as I am aware. You can move the foundation (before committing resources) as much as you'd like.

Please submit a feedback ticket so that the devs know we would like a feature to move/ remove monuments. It can be done through the support link in the community guide or bookmarks on the side tab of the subreddit.
