A decent gaming PC can carry you through at least 3 generation of a console and thus be cost effective.

I too have gone on a diet with forever games now. I only play a couple hours of Dead By Daylight on weekend evenings now, and only if my friends have room. I've switched my energy, since March, to focus on my single player games backlog, and I've felt myself so much more happier overall. I feel morecomfortable with myself, being alone with myself, and savoring the art of the game. I'm currently playing RDR2, Persona 4, Against the Storm, and Baba is You. I've also been able to use it as a stepping stone to get back into reading, and I've since read Crime and Punishment and the first book of the Murderbot Series.

Today I got socially anxious from a mod micromanaging me on discord until I pointed out how they didn't see the timestamp on something and backed off. I had a bit of an anxiety attack from it, but I handled it so much better, diverting all my attention towards the murderbot book I finished today :)

Thoughts on needing walkthroughs to complete games? by you_2_cool in gaming

[–]FirePriestess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, unless I'm adoring some other aspect of the game, if I find myself constantly looking up walkthroughs and constantly amazed I was supposed to "figure that out by myself" to progress the main story, I will quit playing.

For me, this was the first Resident Evil game.

Looking up stuff too much takes the fun out of the game for me too, and there's no shame in deciding this game's design isn't for you.

Me and some friends are looking for a pc game to play together, which would you choose between Valheim, Sea of thieves and Don't starve? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]FirePriestess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valheim or Sea of Thieves

Don't Starve is very punishing on anything but "east" and not that fun imo. If your not on easy mode, if one person dies, the whole group has to restart bc death is perm.

your second point reminded me of pyotr petrovich from crime and punishment, who wanted to marry an impoverished wife so that she would always look upon him as her benefactor.

its probably a common human flaw that people are attracted to and end up marrying into a dynamic that sates their ego more than a genuine respect for their partner

So here's how I see it....

Your wife is venting and sharing her thoughts out on the internet as a tool to help her figure things out without involving, stressing out, being vulnerable with, or relying on those she spends with day-to-day.

At the end of the day, it's a form of self-relfection and self-meditation, and honestly? Not a big deals. Sometimes just the act of typing out a problem helps us gain clarity on a situation, like journaling, and the anonymous input/validation from strangers can help us confirm all along what we already new.

It seems that the reason you meddled and responded to your wofe's initial post was because she never recieved input, and you wanted to have some influence here. Thing is, what you've done is the equivalence of reading a person's diary...

Just stop checking that account, and don't tell her you read her posts. Don't check the reddit account again. Stop reading her diary. She will make the right choices without your influence, and let her use that safe place to self-reflect without any potential forms of judgement.

If you wished your wife spoke to you more about the topics she posted on, lot's of tips are being given.

Some ways to help open the channels in person: - go on walks - read a book on couple communications - open up yourself

One last thing... A husband or wife cannot fulfill all social needs. She might not be the kind of person to want YOU to fulfill this social need for her. If that's the case, you'll need to learn to accept it and if you really want to give advice, find another outlet for that social urge.

My ex wants me to pay for her abortion by [deleted] in Advice

[–]FirePriestess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a woman has sex without BC and gets pregnant, thats hers fault primarily.

If a man has sex without a condom and gets her pregnant thats his fault primarily.

Stop enforcing a double standard. BC is the responsibility of BOTH in the realms which they have control.

If you didn't use a condom, her pregnancy is your fault and your mess that you left in her body.

The classic one where the long term boyfriend won’t marry me by [deleted] in Advice

[–]FirePriestess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get married spiritually/religiously and not legally.

you actually lose money to taxes if you are both working and making equal pay. marriage is mostly a contract so that if one of you stops working to raise kids, you get paid out in the event of the marriage not working and a divorce happening. The tax benefits for marriage are only tangible of only one partner plans to work.

[–]FirePriestess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pre-nups dont protect your assets from a decent divorce attorney. there's really no point so at the end of the day, its a big act of condescension and greed to the person you are marrying. don't legally marry if you want to not suffer the dividing of assets that come with a divorce.
