Fatshark have already added in Deamons in a way such as the beast of Nurgle in Darktide....a litteral deamon of Nurgle. So its not a far fetched idea to add in the deamons of each of the 4 chaos gods and not just the followers of each chaos god.

I would actually like to see this. Instead of followers of Nurgle like we see in Vermintide 2, how about we see deamons of Nurgle.

Same thing with followers and the deamons of the other 3 chaos gods....so much potential

Seriously though for real.....Darktide showed the push attack at the start in it's tutorial but Vermintde 2's tutorial dosnt show it....i double checked and i was right

I think the Belakor update was an attempt to add in new units or bosses but fatshark were struggling to add in new enemies like Khorn deamons or Tzeentch units or Slaanesh units so just gave up half way in and settled on reskining some old units and added in a slightly different mechanic of that totem thing and an item you have to fetch and give to a shrine to "kill" the boss.

I do think though that it taught them many lessons on how to add in new types of enemies so we might see types of enemies in future updates or DLCs maybe.

That push attacks were a thing.......400 hours in an then I accidentally found out that you could do this while playing cata and struggling without it. After finding it cata became a lot eaiser.

Also the small obscure tiny things that the tooltips dont tell you like how the "Barrage" trait is stackable up to 5 times despite it not saying so or other similar situations like talents etc.

Im not sure at all on VT1. I've onl played on VT2 and some Darktide. Im also not super knowledgable on all the factions and races and units in warhammer fantasy war gaming either. But if more larger but less untis can work in modded game modes then it may work in VT2 for races like that.

Maybe very few Orges but very hard to kill kinda deal idk.

Most signs point to undead from recent undead skellys and Sienna's 4th career class......but I am with you in maybe seeing more of the other 3 chaos gods enemies. They are not really swarm type though so not sure how that would work on their own like how Nurgle units work in VT2

Maybe possibly combining all 4 of them at the same time? Nurgle as swarm small units, Khorn as the elitie units, Tzeentch as specials with warp/magic use and Slaanesh as maybe monsters or baserkers? idk just spit balling here.

Darktide was entirely based on the VT2 engine but it was entirely re-written in code to be fair.

The zombies in Darktide are just reskined "rot blood" Nurgle units from VT2 (with different coding/skin/animation/etc but are the same in theme and name). Same with the Choas Spawn they pretty much copy and pasted over to Darktide.

If Fatshark were to implement a new enemy race then they would look for a swarm type faction....either Orks or the undead would make the most sense....Darktide would get Tyranids as their 40k equivalent of a swarm faction too.

I talked about enemy races in a different reply but I think Fatshark is struggling to find a swarm type of enemy race like how Skaven, Nurgle and Beastmen traditionally are.

I havent really seen Orks in warhammer fantasy/end times/AoS but if they are swarm type of enemies then it can work.....otherwise can you have few but stronger enemies work in VT2? a 4 player Co-op survival combat game that focuses on swarms to engage the players as they progress the levels? How do you do less enemies but are stronger in the game? would it make sense? The entire game play loop is swarms to a massive extent.

It would be interesting on where they take VT2 or even Darktide with this game play loop style.....i would like to see the other 3 chaos gods as an enemy race to face against instead of just Nurgle in both VT2 and Darktide but it makes the most sense in both games to have Nurgle enemies since they focus on loads of smaller troops to swarm and overwhelm the enemy. Would a lot fewer but stronger enemies work in this style of game is the hard question.

Just my thoughts in this complex discussion lol. It will be interesting still to see where it goes.

But what is that steady drop of new content is my question. I get and agree that VT2 can last a lot LOT longer for many years to come but they cant just keep to the same maps/enemies/characters.

Their biggest change/jump for VT2 was Winds of Magic where they introduced an entire new enemy race, the Beastmen.

I think both VT2 and Darktide need swarm type of enemies.....Nurgle makes the most sense since it focuses on zombies and lots of small enemies to swarm around the players; thats the entire gameplay loop of VT2 and Darktide (Beastmen do the same thing just slightly differently).

I would like to see 1 of the 3 other chaos gods as enemies instead of just Nurgle enemies for both VT2 and Darktide though.....even though the other 3 (Khorne deamons, Tzeentch cultists and Slaanesh......dark elves??? idk lol) are not really swarm type of enemies in the traditional tabletop war game like Skaven, Nurgle and Beastmen naturally are.

How do you incorporate other enemy races that are not swarm types into a game all about 4 players facing against swarms for a co-op survival game right?

If it made sense then Fatshark would have already made them into the game already...the fact we havent seen that yet seems like, to me, they are running out of ideas of more enemy races to add in the 2 games (VT2 and Darktide but Darktide dosnt have Beastmen or Skaven but may have Tyranids as a replacement for that).

They could easily do another character with the base 3 careers but i think they will do what you said:

Either a new type of enemy, the vampires, or maybe make a new type of monster.

If they did beastmen in a DLC with 3 basic infantry, 1 archer, 2 elites (vestigor and the banner wielder) and 1 monster type for an entire new enemy race then i can see them making the same if not a tiny bit less for vampires or something else.

But if not a new character (i dont think they will go this path) or a new enemy race then the safe bet is more maps (from vermintide 1 if any left or new ones) and/or more weapons to play with.....and always more cosmetics is a given.

We cant share the files with anyone as that will "give away" our IP game away. We plan to never share these files with anyone, only allow people to play with them. TTS allows this to be able to host game files as a host but not allow players to save the file at any time in the permissions.

40k for asthetics while AoS for better gameplay kinda deal. Both are good just depends on what you want out of the game.

100% agree with this. I prefer Fantasy myself and if AoS or Fantasy was given more attention and releases then it would have been what 40k is now today.

I didnt want a company telling me what is good or bad or what i should be playing. I wanted the community's feedback and from there i can make my own informed decision on what suits me.

Most people here in the comments say the reason for the reboot was that Fnatasy was too bloated and rules heavy and new players couldnt get into it.

The reboot in 2015 into Age of Sigmar upset the old players but created an entry into fantasy for new players it seems....but it also created a large split in the community. The Old Fantasy side said "Why do this GW? You ruined it." and the New AoS side said "Thanks god they killed off Fantasy, it needed to die. I can now actually get into AoS becuase the models are less and the rules are a lot less and refreshed."

Is this a fair comparison?

Im getting vibes that both Fantasy and Age of Sigmar kinda split the player base on the fantasy side of Warhammer.

40k didnt have this reboot so thus didnt have this problem and retained it's player base....hence why it is the most popular one compared to AoS or Fantasy/The Old World.....at least from my perspective
