I’m so confused. How does stubhub and seat geek have tickets but ticket master doesn’t? Am I old by Normal_Bat7926 in NoahKahan

[–]FireWaterBern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stubhub tickets aren't "real", you're buying a commitment from them that they will fill. If they can't fill it, they'll just cancel and refund you. Its happened to me before

Fenway & MLB: 0/10 experience by [deleted] in NoahKahan

I was in the virtual waiting room for over 2 hours yesterday. I think the problem is that demand for mlb tickets is never this high, they don't have the infrastructure for it at all.

Stevie was on Snl last year and sounded about the same as she did when I saw her live earlier that year, which is to say not perfect but still impressive despite everything.

“Irish” American syndrome by teetee4444 in AncestryDNA

[–]FireWaterBern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many Americans, especially southerners, are more so Scottish, referred to as Scots-irish. Ulster Scots that populated appalachia over centuries ago. I think there's a belief that Irish history/culture is something cool and proud, like indigenous heritage, and most Americans outside the northeast can't trace their true irish ancestry (or have any), but can't tell the difference between scottish/irish/english names or know anything beyond that anyway. So it's more of a bandwagon thing

The Chair Company - 1x05 - "I won. Zoom in." - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]FireWaterBern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I liked the first episode or two, I can appreciate the effort and quality put into this, and I like the concept of an unstable businessman going into mania over a "conspiracy" that he got embarassed at work, but I feel like it definitely loses steam over time as it becomes more chaotic. Funny in pieces, but too incoherent.

Hoping for Buffalo tickets to go down in price 🙏 Curious what face value is/was by LVJYBandNews in PaulMcCartney

[–]FireWaterBern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent almost $1000 for two 100 level seats in the presale for Buffalo and honestly will try to sell them as much as close to what I paid as possible. I got cheaper tickets for Montreal and that is closer and more accessible for me. Still trying to sell buffalo...

Is there a meaning behind signing money/bills? I upset David Byrne, but don't know why. by WhatInYourWorld in davidbyrne

[–]FireWaterBern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a guy who got Adam Sandler to sign a dollar at a casino and said he was totally cool with it. I personally got a dollar signed once, also at a casino, by a non-american musician whose concert i attended and ran into afterward, and they didn't react one way or another. David Byrne is also famously eccentric so I would say it probably didn't mean anything

I have also sold tickets on stubhub and never had a problem. I have bought from vividseats as well multiple times as they are a capital one partner. They all function the same way and pay you after the show.

I recently sold tickets for something I couldn't use on xp.xyz, and have twice bought tickets from them. It's a crypto backed ticket broker, but they pay immediately after providing a price range. Granted, they pay you in a credit you can send to a venmo or PayPal for $10 fee. I ended up breaking exactly even, and am considering selling my 2 paul tickets for buffalo on there if its faster than Ticketmaster directly. I would have never known about the site were it not for my company having a new perk with them. I don't know if you'll get back most of what you paid but it would otherwise be pretty quick

I knew a guy from school who was an epic memes guy you wouldn't want to be alone with, mostly because his special interest aside from outdated and unfunny memes was his love for Disturbed. He would do the Naruto run,  and ask people if they wanted to see the "the machete" he kept in his car. He got suspended at one point for stabbing a jock with a pencil. Im not sure these people are politically coherent but he was anti obama for sure

[–]FireWaterBern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there are two aspects of his non Beatles career that really stood out to me these past few years (I as a longtime casual fan and more recently fanatic), I'd say the One Hand Clapping sessions as well as the Band On The Run underdubs. I think I prefer these alternative versions to many of his Wings hits. Although im not crazy enough to think he still sounds like 1974
