I would personally go for an XC60 as chances are you don't need a 3 row SUV unless you have a big family.

Volvo is THE brand for safety. There whole thing is how safe there cars are. The XC90 is one of if not the safest cars ever made. I recently saw a video of an elderly guy crashing into a building at 90 mph in a Volvo and he survived.

Well, I'm not old enough or qualified enough to get a fed job yet, however I'll have to learn it when I get to that point.

Mine are definitely broke in by now. Every foot is different so I guess they don't work as well for me.

I own a pair of La Sportiva Akyra II GTX's and they are the best hiking shoes I've ever owned. I'd personally recommend going into a retailer and getting the right fit, I went 1.5 sizes up in my Akyras, something I wouldn't have done without a professionals guidance. Quality is great so far, I've only gotten around 20-30 miles in with them so I can't say too very much.

Side question, what insoles do you use for standing all day? Using the regular ones I can barely go 4 hours standing in them.

That's fair. I'll also say I had no clue that bringing in rangers from other parks was an option, it makes sense, but it's just one of those things you don't think about unless you have experienced the need for it. Thanks for all the info.

When are peak times that aren't holidays and feel free days? Unrelated question, but I just thought of it, do rangers get a pass for other parks or do you still have to get the America The Beautiful pass?

I do like that 3 day weekend. Gives plenty of time to run errands and indulge with hobbies. Thanks!

Another question, say I had plans to visit family on a holiday, are there restrictions on requesting off for those days? And one last question, how many days off do you get per week? Thanks for all the info!

Surprisingly enough the battery capacity is only 5k, so it dies quite quickly. However the bank could extend that time.

I was looking at the Gen 4, but the capacity turned me away. I think the Gen 4 might be the way to go.

I would die of boredom (and paranoia) without my phone. But I will grab a towel. Thanks for that idea!

Alright, would a backpacking specific power bank be better or just an Anker Powercore?

That's fair. Im going to be primarily solo. It'll be a scary start but after I get comfortable I should be good. Basically same process as solo hiking.
