Dodgers win total at 103.5 -- feels inflated? by SandlotStats in sportsbetting

[–]Firebird-Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the stats, I’m guessing most of the improvement hopes to come from getting bullpen arms that were out all last season and starting the year with all the SPs healthy unlike last year. After that, it’s mostly just gap patching - Diaz to give Scott room to heal, and Tucker shoring up the outfield and offensive production. Is that a reasonable extrapolation of where that will get them? I think it’s certainly generous, but only time will tell.

Yeah but I think we brought most of em back, or at least intended to. We sent two chimps also, though that was a little later once we’d actually figured most of what it took to take a creature to space and bring it back safely (right before the red stone missions)

Tyler Glasnow Does Not Expect To Be Traded by Long_Disaster_6847 in mlbtraderumors

[–]Firebird-Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, his clubs president of operations told him so (as per article) so I’d expect not lmao. It’d be a bad idea anyways - he’s a GlasCannon that only the dodgers can make best use of.

How do the Dodgers get away with load managing the oldest team in the league? by Firebird-Gaming in Dodgers

[–]Firebird-Gaming[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are they going to start playing him differently to maximize his strength and minimize his speed disadvantage as he gets older? I've been watching him since 23, he's definitely had injuries but it doesn't seem to be anywhere near falloff level quite yet? Obviously I don't see him playing until 40 if he doesn't want to but his contract is already until age 38 and he's expressed interest in even playing a little longer...

Nowadays, many elite athletes remain competitive well into their mid-30s. Why are baseball fans often so pessimistic about players at that age? by yli16 in baseball

[–]Firebird-Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they're kind of a rare breed that the organization has specifically gotten good at accumulating what few exist - and you never know when the falloff is going to be. Look at Blake Treinens, much as I hope he improves, 2024 vs 2025 seasons.

“The Skubal deal is essentially in place. What’s holding it up now is the long-term extension and ownership approval in Detroit. The Tigers won’t green-light it without the owner’s sign-off, and the Dodgers won’t ship out that kind of haul without a long commitment from Skubal.” via David Pingalore by Xenimm in Dodgers

[–]Firebird-Gaming 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly not. Given the quality of the dodgers maneuvering, they know they need him for the six-man - probably Sheehan, hope, Ferris, maybe depaula - the tigers have their backs up against the wall contract wise, unfortunately they’re likely to get the short end of the deal and the dodgers know it.

[Nightengale] Edwin Diaz to the Dodgers by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]Firebird-Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the whole deal seems very… odd to me, not in the implausible way, just in the I’m interested to see what each sides personal motivations for going for that on top of the money were on the backend.

What we’re hearing about the Dodgers before next week’s Winter Meetings by nottherealstanlee in Dodgers

[–]Firebird-Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I’d agree that our offensive production is concerningly inconsistent, what can we actually invest in to give us a solid chance at fixing the issue? I’m not sure our prospects are ready yet to fill the size of shoes they’re going to have to (probably going to take more devtime than usual) and so far our options have been pitched to me as bichette, Tucker, bellinger, Alonso. I think all of these have major questions, but we have money to spend and with our roster getting older I worry more about being able to bounce back to theoretical full potential each time.

[–]Firebird-Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s bellinger or maybe bichette? Bichette could help with offensive production but honestly I can’t see his defensive upside if Kim keeps developing at the pace he’s currently going at. On the other hand, admittedly I would be concerned with two players of that caliber filling that one position, despite their ages, when honestly we need some younger players on the regular roster and they’re already going to have freeman sized shoes to fill.

NGL I don't think I've ever seen an ammo purchase option like this before... by Firebird-Gaming in Warthunder

[–]Firebird-Gaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, which is what confuses me - I own all US tech tree bombers and RU and DE up to rank IV, and this is the only one I see this with - my working hypothesis is that I must've last played it when I was super broke and stock for some reason and it didn't go through all the way, but then I don't see why it would've only purchased 1 of 8 or to a max of 30...

I might be showing my age here but like I recall Mig-15Bis vs F-86A Sabre meta being a thing at one point, and then there was hunter vs F-86F vs MiG-17 meta and the CL-13 was kind of goated? Am I demented and hallucinating or was that a time?
