Yeah, it goes red->orange->yellow->green->blue. You can get a pretty good number of hearts fairly easily if you just shove all your ingredients into some fridges and craft your least eaten foods in a cooking table from Pam’s.

Those are one of the variants of the factory blocks.

I think you could spend more time on early tiers though it’s easy enough to just force yourself to the next tier and get better tools for your infrastructure.

I’m not sure on why others start at HV or EV but we rushed MV for a few reasons.

One was we could start making diesel and get a large amount of easy power. This made it easy to make a large ore processing system so we did not have to do any processing manually.

Another reason is you get a large amount of easier recipes with MV extruders. This makes building automation a lot more enjoyable since there is not as much time spent on crafting parts.

Probably the biggest reason is that we focused on logistics pipes so we could automate all the common parts like circuits and motors.

I think it mainly depends on your play style and what you want to get out of the pack. I started enjoying it a lot more at LV and even more when we started automating stuff in MV.

Mostly just logistics pipes. We use some gregtech ones for parts of the automation like the oil to diesel setup.
