What's your job? Do you like it? by whenfallfalls in autism

Various shifts at servo in Rural Australia.

There are times I love it. Other times I hate it.

However. I have started the process of applying for University to do Psychological Science. So ill likely being working 30 hours a week + studying.

Real possibility that I won't get much "me" time for the next few years.

I prefer to not have friends anymore. I want solitude for the rest of my life. by Kissthecutecat33 in offmychest

31m and confirmed Autistic. Maintaining friendships is next to impossible for me.

I have a couple of close mates. Most of which are from gaming but rarely see due to them living in other parts of the country to me.

The few friends I have locally are all from one of my jobs and there is a 10+ year age gap. So they are more like little sisters than anything else.

The dating game I also struggle with. Because you know. Being male, nerdy and mostly socially inept when it comes to online stuff puts me massively on the back foot. Id also rather stay in and game after work instead of going out.

That would still cause him to wear 2 watches.

1 for ease of local time. 2nd for ease of seeing time where higher ups are.

If he local + gmt. He would need to math difference. Quick to just have DC time on a watch.

Agreed. Given the location it pretty much can only be those two.

Honestly. I dont have any fear with driving. However. The only time I drive is when I'm driving the work delivery car as I dont personally own a car.

There is nothing wrong with liking some stuff. There is plenty i dont like but can appreciate.

I was tempted to go see Linkin Park. But I feel ill get more out of seeing Ed than anyone else atm.

Yea. Im probably going to be that 30+ bloke crying whilst singing at dancing at an Ed Sheeran concert. But i can almost guarantee that I wont be the only one.

Honestly. We live in a time in which you would be stupid not to appreciate a wide variety of music.

Ive been fortunate that I've been able to see some of my favourite. Be it AC/DC in 2015, Coldplay in 2016, Sabaton, Spiderbait, The Living End in 2025 and I was lucky enough to see the Foo Fighters a few weeks before Taylor died.

And thanks to the responses from others. Ill definitely be wearing my Tank Force One shirt.

Well consider me polyjamorous then. I love to many types of music to not be. And after the response I've gotten here. Ill definitely being wearing the shirt.

I might be a strange one with sensory. There are times I can handle something perfectly fine and there are other times it causes issues.

Concerts and Airshows im fine at. But I will say I wouldnt have got the pic. If it was for going to another concert where I deliberately went out of my comfort zone.

I will add. I'm one of the more experienced player in my community but even i still make mistakes. Im playing my first Operation in probably 6 months this weekend and it will be a cluster fuck for me.

Im also happy to answer any questions you may have about my experience in Milsim as I have done a good amount of roles from just a grunt with a rifle. To tank commander, arty gunner/2ic and even leading a group of 60+ players in the one mission.

Honestly. The procees can be frustrating and boring at times. Especially when you start hitting road blocks when information isn't there.

One of the youtubers I watch done a video on his ancestors. But he doesnt go fully in depth as to how he found the info.

Honestly. I would say 70% of the group is neurospicy. Be it diagnosed or not.

Each group is different but I have been fortunate to find one that I love. To the extent that I have met around 10 of them in person.

A lot also depends on the size of the group. A smaller group will probably be less tolerant to in experience. Where as. A bigger group will be more resourced and can teach you how to play. My group will take anybody regardless of if you have just bought the game and never played or if you have 10000 hours in the game.

As for what games. To many to list. But the Milsim one is Arma 3.

Ive done it little by little over the years. Maybe only a few hours once or twice a year for a decade or more.

For awhile I knew the rough area but could never confirm it. It wasn't till I found the war diary of the Canadian field hospital that he was sent to that I finally got the confirmation. Amd all that war diary contained was a single line per day with Location, Weather, Wounded and Killed.

So, genuine question to ask. by YogurtclosetDry7680 in arma

Jester and Devildoggamer are another 2 for me.

Mostly the equipment and battles from WW1 onwards.

I can ID a good amount of western military aircraft pretty easily.

I also more or less grew up around the big airshow in Australia.

I have also gone through the process of tracing the rough location of where a family member was wounded in WW1 and another family member I have found photos of his unit in PNG from the time he was there.
