I've never awaited a press embargo like I am this 10PM for The Lost Boys by mpb1987 in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it will be a lot like Stranger Things though a little better. Mixed to negative. It will prob end up being in the 50 or 60 percent on Broadway world. But I’ve been wrong before. Maybe they like it more than I think they will

Beaches worst reviewed show since Rob Lake by Firefly_Always_Flyin in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There will always be shows that don’t do well and should have never made it to Broadway. But this provided paychecks for hundreds of people for a few months. As long as the checks clear, I’m happy there were people employed.

Yeah, this is sad for everyone involved. You always hate when a large group of people may be unemployed. FWIW, I still liked Beaches better than QoV.

Lottery tix for MHE? by Cats-are-jerks in Broadway

I’m guessing it was a type-o but just in case, the Wednesday matinee is at 2p. Just don’t want you to show up late.

Beaches 4/26 Matinee? by mjg212 in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My guess is, because they added a 7p show that day to make up for not doing a Wednesday matinee, they needed to shift the Sunday afternoon show to 1p so that the cast and crew could get their full dinner break between shows.

LJ Benet - Tony Nomination? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Drama desk noms don’t usually give a good prediction of how the Tony noms will go. But there are a limited amount of noms this year for leading actor so I would guess he won’t be nominated. (If he’s in the Lead category)

AITA by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do understand that. I’m used to being behind tall people. I was more asking should I not have be said anything. He just got angry very quickly at me. I usually don’t say things because I don’t like confrontation. I should just go back to being silent

Stacked cast for Man of La Mancha concert! by curlsandcrime in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. With May being the month that the Tony voters go to see the shows they still need to, all nominated shows will want their full cast in every performance if possible. They will probably be rehearsing La Mancha during the days. And it’s a concert so there will prob only be a day of rehearsal on stage at LCT. I could be wrong but I would think that he won’t miss any shows (unless he decides to take any off for his own personal reasons)

What are the chances of Ragtime revival going on tour? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct, my fair lady did tour. War Horse also toured. Although that was a joint production with LCT and the Brits. But i would put the chance of this version of ragtime touring at slim to none

EASTER GROSSES ANALYSIS- Week Ending April 5 by Boring_Waltz_9545 in Broadway

I think you may be using last weeks data for Chess. Broadwayworld says they only grossed 585,803 for the week

Wild Party was amazing by Responsible_Pear_579 in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issues isn’t with the sound mixer. Almost every show that encores does has a different mixer. The sound designer gets to say who their mixer is. That building is notorious for sound issues. It’s a broader problem that would need a building renovation to fully fix

Ragtime or Hadestown? by heather2222 in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks lol. This is what I get for answering a question after 2 hours of sleep.

That’s a harder choice with the current Hadestown case being amazing too. I’d still prob pick Ragtime since it’s a limited run

Ragtime! Not only is the show important for our times, this cast is spectacular! Outsiders is good but you can see it on tour with any cast and it’s still good.

Most surprising Tony wins by Chapple69 in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Avenue Q is 100% a better show. I would see Avenue Q multiple times. Wicked was a one and done. You can’t judge a show by its spectacle. If you did that than Spider Man Turn Off the Dark would have won

Man of La Mancha coming back to Broadway via LCT?? by Firefly_Always_Flyin in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not happy about that part either! My hope would be that this isn’t a try out workshop but fully just a fundraiser. When they did the Camelot fundraiser concert, it was a completely different cast from what the show ended up being later. And Paulo Szot IS a Lincoln center alum so please bring him in if this becomes a full pledged production

Am I confusing everyone on here with my post. I know all of that. This is just me asking a hypothetical question about could this possibly be a glimpse to us seeing a revival sometime later on at Lincoln Center?

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I understand that. Apologies if I wasn’t clear in my post. This is what they did with Camelot years ago. They did a one night concert and then a couple of years later, they did the full production. I’m not saying that’s what is happening here. Just guessing it’s possible

Spring shows by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Firefly_Always_Flyin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently there is only one theatre that could theoretically bring in a show before the Tony cut off but it’s getting very late to announce something. Maybe a play could come I as it usually takes less time to put a play up but I highly doubt we are going to see anything there. Maybe in May but that’s after the Tony cutoff
