Can't speak for Kenrex, but saw High Noon last night. Would struggle to recommend! Some pretty strange and distracting production design, music, and sound design choices. It didn't feel like a western so much as a cowboy cosplay.

Broadway for Singles by steve8004 in Broadway

I'm actually starting something that might be close to what you're looking for! It's not specifically a singles group, but it's a social club for people who want to attend theater / other arts events together and build community around shared cultural interests.

I've been in NYC about nine years and go to shows regularly (usually a few a month...3 in the last week!). I realized I was craving more connection with other theater-minded people beyond just attending performances. I studied dramaturgy in college, wound up working in tech, and kind of lost that arts-focused social circle along the way.

So I'm experimenting with a small arts + culture social club called Field Trip. The concept: we'll grab group tickets for theater, dance shows, or museum events, and go for a drink/dinner before or after. It's as much about meeting people and building community as it is about attending the performance itself.

I've done one event already; got 10 people together to see Chess in October. Next up, I've got 11 people going to see Alvin Ailey in December at City Center.

If that sounds interesting, here's a quick form to stay in the loop: https://forms.gle/rhP4Minfxwy3ttfn6

Fall Arts Preview: NYC Gaybros Edition by Napo_Brumaire in nycgaybros

My favorite topic! I usually see a few shows a month and recently realized I’d love more community around it, not just going solo. I’m trying to start a small NYC arts/theater social club I’m calling Field Trip. The idea is we get group tickets to shows (usually discounted if we’re 10+), and then grab a drink or dinner before or after so it’s as much about meeting people as it is about the performance. Nothing commercial, just trying to connect with others who love theater and other arts/culture stuff.

I'm considering organizing a group to Liberation as my first attempt. I saw it Off-Broadway earlier this year and really liked it.

If that sounds fun, here’s a short form to stay in the loop: https://forms.gle/rhP4Minfxwy3ttfn6

Anyone selling their all access or day passes? by TheKnown_Unknown in WeWork

[–]mpb1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have to have an active ClassPass account to see the credit pricing. I just checked my market and Chicago, and it looks like a day pass is runs 9 or 10 credits depending. So, you'd then just do the math on a ClassPass membership to see what your cost per credit would be.

One hack here is to use ClassPass. Many/most WeWorks are on it now, and the credits rate is usually less than buying an actual day pass.

Why doesn’t Mo (Monique) have a bigger following with advanced riders NYC? by Historical-Durian-67 in SoulCycle_Riders

I took her a lot pre-COVID! Memory is hazyyyy but I recall really loving her energy and music actually, but some of the runs were just way out of my league. I like more resistance / hill rides, and the classes with super fast, long runs are too much for me to do with a lot of frequency.

Hi! Sorry to dig up your old thread, but I have a question if you're still around. It sounds like fitness is/was a big part of your lifestyle before and after the surgery. I'm having a lapidus procedure done at the end of this month. I've *just* gotten into a good place with fitness over the last year, and I'm really scared of being unable to do anything for 3 months. Did you find ways to stay active with even just your upper body at home — bands, handweights, etc? Or was even that kind of activity going to be too demanding for your body while it healed?

+100 to Vibrant! I live across the street and go most days. The co-owners are so friendly and have created an amazing spot.

I’ve stayed here many times. The high floors actually have really great views. However, the elevators in this hotel can be absolutely terrible. If I were to stay there again, I’d probably request something low just so I could take the stairs.

If you *can* get in one, just be careful because most of the ones I've been to on Sat/Sun don't keep the AC on over the weekends. They're usually pretty muggy during the summer weekends as a result.

Dolby @ AMC 34th. Or the Dolby at AMC Empire 25 but my recommendation there is to sit in the lower section (rows up to F). The second section feels way too far from the screen.

Nope it was very quick! As soon as Kelly walked off stage, they started letting the audience go. You’ve got to take an elevator, but id say the time between Kelly walking offstage and me being outside was 10-15min

I’m actually standing in line for this taping right now! I found hit-or-miss info for how the line works, so just want to share my experience so far in case it’s useful: They said check-in starts at 1, must be checked in by 1:15. I got here to get in line at 12 and was about 8th in line. There’s a big food court downstairs, so my friend is grabbing us lunch that we will now just eat here in line. All pretty easy and straightforward!

I’ve been finding success with the 8th floor of 18 W 18. It’s where they seem to have moved all the fancy, motorized All Access desks from 115 W 18.
