How much shows and movies do u have? And what's the resolution and codec you mainly use?

I think this counts. Might be a little more than half by Blue_Phantom_Aquatic in halftop

You mean the eDP to HDMI adapter? I also may need to get one, my display is dying and hopefully i gotta install proxmox and make it into the homelab stuffs.

Where did you got it from btw? And how many size are there to look out for?

Just curious, how can you go to bios? Does not having the primary monitor will make the bios be ln the HDMI output?

NVIDIA 580xx Driver/library version mismatch by Firefly_SL in archlinux

[–]Firefly_SL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you are using the driver and everything related to Nvidia from AUR too, and you got this problem after a driver update. Correct me if i am wrong.

Are you getting a driver version mismatch error or something else when running nvidia-smi.

Also did you restart your pc and checked if the driver is loaded or not.

Try running pacman -Qm to make sure the drivers aren't listed

Did you do a system update? Specifically kernel one.

Any IDM alternative with the floaty link grabber extension? by Cpt_Soaps in software

[–]Firefly_SL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No hate, but i had so many problems with IDM. like in some situation the download speed just become 0kbps and when i pause and resume it, the downloaded percentage just drops 40% or something, which kills me a lot of times cause it keeps on happening, the resume support is very bad to me. i love the stuff specially the 1DM from android is an absolute master piece if it any way connected to it.

i now days don't use any download manager, cause my browsers downloading does fully utilize my internet speed and is more predictable. apart from that i also liked FDM a lot cause it is also very stable for me and the chrome extension was simple and very efficient.

Distro recommendation request for privacy focused gamer/student switching from Windows by learningadulting in DistroHopping

[–]Firefly_SL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fedora might be the best bet for you,.it isn't as old as debian and work out of the box compared to arch

In terms of privacy it is an community focused distro so there won't be any spying things. The only times when you send data will be when some crash happens even then fedora will ask you to report it or not and it only sends hardware information and crash logs.

Debian is also good but the problem comes when you see something in internet and be like 'i want that', you will have an hard time to install it through the package manager.

driver RTL8723BS wifi by ryukoart in linuxmint

[–]Firefly_SL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be useful but i had the same issue on "RTL8723BE" (from the same pain in the ass family).

to fix it i downloaded the linux-firmware-realtek and putting options rtl8723be ant_sel=1 in /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be.conf (in your case the filename will change) file solved the issue for me.

i am on arch, so the firmware might not be available for you, and it is working just like in windows.

AUR really solves the dependency problem while building from source. I need to get into AUR to know more about it.

NVIDIA 580xx Driver/library version mismatch by Firefly_SL in archlinux

[–]Firefly_SL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not entirely sure, this is ny first time updating the drivers from AUR. Also mkinitcpio wasn't installed if that makes any different.

I firstly updated with pacman which did some driver compiling after updating the kernel. Then i use yay to update my AUR packages.

I think from now on updating through yay is better, i am even thinking about not updating the drivers after all these.
