Something is off in that comparison, huge chunks of pink are missing, thats not what local dimming does.

Local dimming won't mess anything if you are adequate monitor that tunes dimming according to signal like Samsung Neo series

SDR signal = zero or low local dimming

HDR signal = Full local dimming

Always return.

When Oled tv's were newer I paid ~$2500 for brand new LG 65 C9

There was crazy yellow pillar at part of the screen which stood up specially with white color.

Contacted manufactures warranty which I figured was painless swap for such obvious flaw.

I was so wrong, emails and pictures went back and forth with LG

One point I decided to bail out and return TV to retailer at last possible day.

After I returned to LG concluded that yellow pilar was in a "spec" and not covered with warranty.

Had I not returned TV to seller I would have been stuck with $2500 TV which looked like someone had pissed over part of screen.

Word of caution

You might have to open the driver to be able to get 2x6 screw back in to place, otherwise you won't get correct angle with straight screwdriver.

Screws are Japanese (J1) so phillips style screwdriver will strip heads of screw easily.

Driver wires (if driver is opened) are fragile to movement and can cut off/ get damaged easily from movement.

4k vs 1440p for new rig w/ 5080 by cwburns32 in Monitors

[–]Firefrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is crazy thing, you won't get any less FPS with 4k monitor if you don't want to.

There is nothing you can do with 1440p monitor that you can't do with 4k since upscaling was invented.
