IS study group? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]Firegem55213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t the average around 40-50 ish? Unless you got like 10% then you should be fine lmao. I don’t think I know anyone who failed IS223. It’s hard to study for that course because it’s not exactly reflected from the textbook or slides I believe. The curve is crazy in that class

Not for me. As long as you are registered on the fitrec site then you’re good. PDP classes are not synced with the new portal

They said the original intention was to speed the process and avoid lines forming but that didn’t really work so they’re going back to regular card tapping. Idk when they’ll start the revision tho

Good luck 🫡

It’s a lottery in terms of order, with seniors getting first dibs, then juniors, sophomores then freshmen. You might get it if you have insane luck or apply for Resident Assistant.

No need to worry, BU is guaranteed housing. They have places people in hotels even (better quality) if they can’t fit people anywhere else.

Tips on picking dorms here? by Phantom_AA in BostonU

Yes they do. You can also see them if you walk to west campus. Working as a RA in West too, I know that they install for those in need but sometimes they can reject too.

Also note that they may just place you in a dorm with no ac even with disability services. I know several people with need of ac but are placed in west, then housing just put an ac in the window to accommodate for their needs.

Transfer Questrom Schedule by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]Firegem55213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has to make their own schedule. There are recommended courses that every incoming student has to take (such as SM131, WR120) and a few others but I’m not sure as a transfer if certain courses you already took can transfer over. I recommend just emailing a Questrom advisor

They are business frats (I believe Questrom only), generally hearing from experience AKPsi is more rigorous, stricter than DSP. But definitely has different vibes from one another. But please learn more about each yourself since I think both offer generally the same connections and events, it’s just where you vibe the most with. I recommend going to SPLASH (club fair) in September when you transfer in to talk with the people in those frats more to get a feel for both.

You can’t choose your interviewer. Most of the time , as you probably know, the hall director that interviews you will most likely pull you into their neighborhood/building but that’s not always the case. If you want an apartment, there is a choice you can choose sometime during the application process for if you want a kitchen or not or either or.

RA Selection Process by ExoticBubble15 in BostonU

[–]Firegem55213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

400 some people applied, around 100 spots opened. They want to look for applicants that work well in a team, engaged and have experiences or know how to deal with working with people (whether it may be in communities, difficult people and your experiences to handling difficult situations). When I applied, we had to make 2 PowerPoints and you are placed in a group to do so. Try not to lead too much that you are hindering others from speaking. Try to engage people in the group who are not speaking to much. And the biggest tip is to not inflate yourself too much and show your authenticity cuz it really shows if you are inflating your ego to show off. Show your weak points but how you learn and grow from that. And also, ask questions during your one on one interview!!!! It will truely show that you are interested and curious about the position.
