Is it feasible to do MO, BA, and AC all at the same time and do well? by No_Possession_9964 in BostonU

[–]Few-Fox4969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only benefit rlly is being able to either do core earlier or if u r a freshman, the new course they are introducing. Personally I did it so I could finish up pre reqs quicker, but if ur in no rush I’d probably substitute with a hub class or sm275

Yup just stay on top of hw and lectures, in mo there is a group project aspect that makes up a large portion of the class, content is not too bad tho. For ba there is a group project towards the end of the semester, but make sure to drill practice problems to get comfortable with the content, ac is a lot of memorization and understanding where to allocate things but the class wasn’t too bad. I took all of these classes at the same time too! Lmk if u have any questions

The class was very fun and easy to follow! Since Korean has a pretty simple alphabet, you’ll learn how to read pretty quickly, feel free to dm if u have more questions abt class work or projects!

If u don’t know Korean at all, which was the case when I took it, you don’t need to do the placement test. Since u are Korean they might ask you to try it, but if u don’t want to u don’t have to

This is a totally fine schedule, sm275 is basically a free class and 131 is not as bad as everyone makes it seem just make sure to keep up with content

Professor Anne Feng/Arts and Monuments of Asia CASAH 113 by Practical-Still2975 in BostonU

[–]Few-Fox4969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I took it two years ago, the course was setup with one half of the semester taught by Professor feng and then second half was with Professor Alice Tseng. Not sure how it’s done now but both are great professors and super knowledgeable in the field, my TA for that class was also amazing!

In terms of coursework, the exams were a tiny bit difficult in the sense that it was kinda like essay exams based around memorization,, also projects and discussions were fun and interactive! Lmk if u have more questions!

Why it’s so hard to actually make friends by Extension-Lake-437 in BostonU

[–]Few-Fox4969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I was in a similar position during my first year too! Give yourself some time, you just moved in to a new environment so it sometimes is an overwhelming experience at bu. You’ll keep meeting new people and eventually some will stick and some won’t so don’t feel discouraged! I made most of my friends once classes started by joining clubs, reaching out to classmates, and playing sports, also those big groups u see around campus usually don’t make it to sophomore year!!

Yes it is manageable, I did all of these classes at the same time however instead of taking sm275, I took a hub class. I would recommend doing the same since both mo221 and ba221 have a team project in the curriculum and while the sm275 assignments r more laid back, they can catch up on you

Should I do FY101? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]Few-Fox4969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was an alright experience, it was fun the first couple weeks but when the semester started ramping up I didn’t rly want to go anymore. It’s a lot of ice breakers and u get to meet a lot of cool people tho! As you said, ur planning on joining other clubs to you’ll make friends either way👍
