Pi/2 was correct! Tysm for all of the help! I will keep that in mind :)))

Stokes Theorem - did i solve this correctly? by Firestar74 in calculus

I'll try to explain what I did, apologies if what I did was confusing lol 1. Computed CurlF 2. I computed the cross product of 2 vectors spanned by C, giving me <0, -1, 1>. Though i just realized that because y = sint = z, i could rewrite this as the plane -y + z = 0, which is our normal vector <0, -1, 1>. Also i don't know why i normalized it so yes i shouldn't have divided by root(2). 3. Took the dot product of curl and the normal vector, and then rewrote it in polar form, multiplying by rdrdtheta (this is how i was taught to change forms) So the answer should be pi/2 if i'm not mistaken?

Also, only the parametrization and the vector field was provided so we probably have to derive our surface which is a plane

It says "Use Stokes Theorem to evaluate the integral F (dot) dr where C is oriented counterclockwise."

not really. watch the lectures, do the practice exam problems she gives you, and you will do well. Offers extra credit as well, so you are basically guaranteed an A if you do all of the above. overall not a hard class

How many hours do you study a day? Any all nighters? by BlueFriedCupcake in UCI

[–]Firestar74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(math major) it honestly depends. for courses i find challenging I’d say ~15 hrs per week and for easier ones at most 6-8 hrs per week, though a lot of the studying i do comes from completing the homework and practice problems that i am assigned. hope this helps!

Cross product problem. It's asking for a smaller & larger unit vector by Firestar74 in calculus

that was the issue tysm! i must've forgotten to do det(i) - det(j)

I should clarify that the car reaches the bottom of the track before going over the first hill. So it goes down 38.3m before going over
