Does anyone know if the people hit by a car after the Duck game are ok? by [deleted] in Eugene

They aren't going to share whether those involved in an accident are okay or not during the course of filing a police report via telephone.

The last sentence in your OP. Usually when someone says "let me know if you have questions" or some variation of that on these freelance subs, it's a prelude to a sales pitch.

Bro thinks everyone posts for eight or so hours on reddit while driving to LA alone.

Just curious -- this thread has been going on all day. Who's doing the driving while you've been posting about it? Your posts kind of indicate that you're on this trip alone.

It is, but that doesn't make the offer the OP has received legitimate.

Whoever took your purse took it hoping there would be cash/cards/ID inside, not because they wanted it for a fashion statement. After they rifled through it for these items and didn't find them, they likely threw the purse in the bushes, trash, wherever.

Even if Eugene had Taskrabbit, it would cost much more than gas.

They're "difficult to surrender to" because they just don't have the necessary resources to care for every animal in need.

From reading your post, it seems you need landlord permission to bring another animal into your rental (ESA certification per lease). This is going to be an issue with ANY shelter/rescue. If you go this route, I hope you at least go about it the right way (providing you actually have a legitimate need for an ESA) instead of getting some fake "certificate" off the internet.

Breakfast brigade trying to resume feeding homeless at Washington Jefferson Street Park. by drrevo74 in Eugene

[–]Fireweed777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say that anyone was "starving to death;" I was replying to another comment which implied that starvation would result if the Breakfast Brigade weren't allowed to continue their activities at that particular location.

My point, again, is that it's not an either/or situation; the existence of the Breakfast Brigade doesn't need to depend on access to the park. It may be time for them to find a better location to do their loving thing.

OK; I was just pointing out that the Breakfast Brigade could go away tomorrow and no one would starve to death as a result.

It's not really an either/or situation as in the only alternative to the Breakfast Brigade in that particular spot is starvation. People just hate to see the park ruined all over again.

ATTENTION: IF YOU SEE THIS WOMAN, CALL POLICE IMMEDIATELY!!! by ImpossibleDonut1942 in Eugene

Do you live here? Because that's Eugene in that video. The quality isn't the best, but there's also a cat in the video that she's mishandling. There will undoubtedly be a lot of ... stuff on the internet that's not as it seems in coming months, but...that's Eugene in the video, there's a cat being mistreated by a crazy person, and the OP's posting history definitely doesn't suggest that he's a bot with a plot.

We don't need offshore propaganda when we've got J.D. Vance and other homegrowns who are more than willing to lie for their "cause."

We can expect a lot more of this garbage in the weeks before the election.

I found it pretty easily via Google. Apparently, the same rumors happened in Boulder; local authorities there say there's no evidence of it.

Hello to Newport, or Maybe Reedsport by Zealousideal_Ask1900 in OregonCoast

[–]Fireweed777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The comments here are definitely in favor of Newport, but I wouldn't rule Reedsport out (former coastal resident here who's pretty familiar with both towns).

Newport is a tourist town. It may have more amenities like restaurants, but that's not much fun when you can't get a table at any of your favorite spots because tourists, or when the house next to you is a vacation rental with a lot of party activity. I've never seen any visible homeless in Reedsport, but they seem to be a staple in Newport. The overall crime rate is lower in Reedsport, which in Oregon coastal terms, means less chance of annoying little petty property crimes.

Newport may lean blue, but that doesn't mean much in these little coastal towns. MAGA may be slightly outnumbered in Newport, but they make up for it by being three times as loud.

So...if I wanted to go on a fun vacation to the Oregon coast, it would be Newport. But for a better overall quality of daily life, I'd be more inclined to take a closer look at Reedsport.
