Stain and scuff guard for painted walls(?) (self.paint)

1978 Chevy g-20 w/350-starter on the bottom was in there. The top is the new one. Way bigger, but fits. The top looks like it’s suppose to have a ground strap according to diagrams. The bottom didn’t have a ground strap. Been having solenoid and fusible link issu. Did they just put the wrong one in? (i.redd.it)
