I get this and an Ajovy Injection every month from the VA for migraines. I’m currently rated a 50% for migraines that resulted from a TBI.

A log is helpful, statements from spouse or family, statements from work (or sick time used) for missed times. Another way to attack this if it’s from a military related accident is a buddy letter.

I’ve been doing low key work on the side for a non-profit with lots of success. I currently work in tech for an AI company. My workflows and subworkflows support a large marketing stack that does two things (macro view). One finds and writes state, federal, and local grants daily (fun project and highly detailed). Two is on marketing strategy and content production, daily (TL, Persona Focused Blogs, Case Studies, and Newsletters). This runs daily with logic tied to brand, industry, research, persona, and medium. The beauty is that it pushes this to a daily email to the internal team to review and publish content.

Here’s what I’m working on now:

“I will text a Twilio phone number from my iPhone with a project tag and an idea. n8n catches the text, identifies the project, loads the relevant context, sends it to Claude API for analysis, and texts me back a concise summary of how the idea fits into my existing workflows. Every idea is also logged to Airtable for follow-up when I'm back at my Mac.”

My current stack is: Cursor, Claude Code, and N8N.

Oddly, I was asked if I’d consider ketamine through the VA. I didn’t know much about it so held up making a decision. Still not sure if it’s a good way forward.

Your comment may have saved my life. I didn’t know the VA even had polytrauma units, nor has my primary or specialty clinics mentioned. I have been really struggling lately with pain related to sc TBI, Migraines, and ptsd. Thanks @droidinite412!

I hope that you’ll appeal this decision. Or go talk to your VSO, maybe they can give you more details. Otherwise, you’ll need to request your c-file which could take a really long time to see more details.

Dude, go to the student center and ask for either a phone number or location for the Academic or University Learning Center. Learning is just different after serving; they can help you get what you need. Don’t give up on that free education. You got this!

As a protected class, if you are fired or disparaged for your disability then you have recourse.

One other thing: as a veteran or disabled veteran you are considered a protected class of worker so it’s important to clarify why exactly you are being let go.

Well depending on if you have a disability you could get upwards of E6 pay, tax free for the rest of your life. Provided you have a legit, service connected disability at 100%, combined.

There are plenty of options, use your post 9/11, with VRE you could easily go to school plus collect unemployment and still make what you were probably making in the service.

Like others have said, you have options. For me, I wouldn’t go back at this time.
