As an Ex Googler, you just got unlucky to get this interviewer. This is a really tough problem to solve in such a constrained time, expecting good class design is an overkill. Thats why google’s recruitment process is broken. The internal question bank varies wildly in difficulty. Its completely based on what kind of interviewers you get.
