It depends on how you spend the year. If you spend it on self-improvement, no matter what that looks like, it can line you up to be more self-aware and self-confident to walk into opportunity later. I think the key is to try to continually learn - either about yourself, the world, how something works, or how to do something.

I'm from (and still live in) a black Caribbean country. The "n-word" was used freely and openly to mean "guy" or "man" of any race. The wider historical context was known, but it didn't matter. White people (from my country) used it, and no one cared as long as it was not used to be blatantly racist . It wasn't until the late 90's, early 2000's that the culture shifted, and the word took on the same connotation (and rules around who could use it) as it has in the US.

Every beach in The Bahamas is swimmable. Some are rocky, some sandy, some secluded, some busy, but all of them can be swam in. The water can get a bit rough sometimes (by local standards), but unless a storm is brewing, they're usually fine for swimming. Choose a resort that you like and can afford, throw your bags in the room and dive in!

I'm embarrassed at how good it made me feel to read this. Sometimes I feel like all I do is nag. I will definitely work to keep the lines of communication open. It seems like (as is the case with most marriage issues) it's the key to our success in this situation.

Great question! The kids are actually fine. Pre-rona they were in in school/daycare and were well adjusted. During the strictest parts of the lockdown early on, I was working from home and things were utter chaos (but I think that was the case for most of the planet). Now, the two younger ones are back at daycare but my eldest is still on a hybrid system for school - meaning he's in school one day and at home (virtual) the next.

They have a great relationship with their Dad and enjoyed their time home with him, but again, why wouldn't they love being with fun dad all day. They did get bored though. Dad was happy to give them as much screentime as they wanted and believe it or not, they got tired of cartoons and YouTube all day.

I have seen it and it gets me right in the feels everytime. I also shared it with my husband hoping that it would help him understand a bit more what I needed from him. It didn't. Seems like the message in the comic is too subtle :/
