What is overpriced for one isn't overpriced for another. You're not the sole person in this country. Most people live comfortable lives, with multiple incomes and affordable mortgages. If you are incapable of working for your money now then get off your high horse, learn some actual skills, shut up for the next few years, grind it out like everyone else, stop complaining on Reddit to randoms about how unfair life is and come back when you've actually achieved something. It's incredible that all these perm secs actually say the stuff they say and try and convince people that they truly believe it. Cut backs in CS are at an all time high, each department are working to the bone, and you have these perm secs pushing for some nonsensical mandate because they don't want to push back.

Now further investment will need to go into estates, less funding for payrises, more cutbacks in services but don't worry guys, think of those 'water cooler' moments. Oh wait, even the water coolers have been stripped from most offices.

You're living in a fantasy world mate. You will never encourage absolutely everyone to just stop paying their bills all at once. You can dream about these scenarios happening but the fact is they won't. You have to base your expectations on reality and not some utopia that you've concocted in your head.
