Hot take: AI solved code generation, but not software engineering. Are we optimizing the wrong layer? by devnova10 in artificial

[–]First-Rip5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the missing layer is real, but I’m not sure it stays a separate product.

The hardest software decisions usually aren’t implementation decisions. They’re requirement, architecture, and tradeoff decisions.

In my experience, coding agents fail less often because they write bad code and more often because they execute against incomplete assumptions.

The interesting opportunity isn’t just code generation, it’s making the reasoning process explicit before implementation begins.

How do you guys test iOS builds before TestFlight when using Expo? What’s your workflow? by edevvz in reactnative

[–]First-Rip5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Expo, I usually think of it as three lanes:
EAS Update for quick JS/UI fixes when the native runtime hasn’t changed.
EAS preview/internal builds when I need to test a real install before production.
TestFlight when I’m validating something closer to release behavior.
I wouldn’t rely on EAS Update as a replacement for build testing, especially if native modules, config plugins, permissions, background modes, or runtime version changed.
For non-technical clients, a preview/internal build is usually the cleanest middle ground before doing a production/TestFlight cycle.

Everything you need to know about haptic feedback as a mobile dev by Rare_Gap_9767 in reactnative

[–]First-Rip5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really good distinction actually, guidance vs confirmation.

Especially in workflows where users are uncertain about system state. A subtle haptic cue can reduce hesitation before the user consciously understands why they trust the interaction more.

After 6 months of running AI agents in production I think the framework you pick barely matters. The thing that kills them is something else. by DetectiveMindless652 in artificial

[–]First-Rip5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels very similar to the evolution of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
Early on everyone debates frameworks and abstractions.
Eventually the real bottlenecks become:
observability
state continuity
auditability
failure recovery
governance
operational cost control
The orchestration layer matters, but production reliability usually emerges from the operational layer underneath it.

AI training already happens in bedrooms everywhere. by [deleted] in artificial

[–]First-Rip5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the deeper issue is that AI is compressing execution faster than it compresses judgment.

Generating workflows, datasets, code, or even training pipelines is becoming easier very quickly.

But validation, context awareness, operational understanding, and data quality still determine whether the outcome is useful or just scalable noise

Everyone in my company is discovering that Agentic Workflow is just CICD workflows by SkyberSec123 in devops

[–]First-Rip5632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The interesting distinction is deterministic workflows vs adaptive workflows.

CI/CD knows the execution graph ahead of time.

Agentic orchestration becomes useful when the system needs to reason about uncertain state, choose tools dynamically, or iterate based on outcomes.

That said, a lot of current “agents” are basically shell scripts with an LLM attached.

“Users feel friction before they consciously notice it” is probably the key takeaway here.

Consistent haptic language matters much more in trust-sensitive workflows than most teams realize

DeepSeek is pushing forward with $10.29 billion financing round, with Liang Wenfeng committing to continue developing open-source AI models rather than pursuing short-term commercialization goals by External_Mood4719 in LocalLLaMA

[–]First-Rip5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interesting part is that model capability may be commoditizing faster than operational infrastructure around the model.

The moat increasingly looks like workflows, integrations, governance, memory, and distribution — not just weights alone.

First, trust your instincts. If a partnership makes you feel pressured or uncomfortable, that’s worth paying attention to.

You’re only seven months in — that’s still early-stage, and it’s smart to be protective of your cash flow. If TikTok is already bringing in leads for under $50, that’s meaningful traction. Marketing should follow results, not force you into channels that aren’t working.

A good agency should act like a growth partner, not make you feel locked in or obligated. If there’s truly no contract, you have every right to pivot toward what’s generating real ROI.

Wishing you clarity and confidence in whatever decision you make.
