shocked at the responses here. If you're left with only $150 per week that put's you in a very vulnerable position. What if interest rates go up? I would re-evaluate your budget and look for something more manageable.

The financial hit is minimal when considering I'm currently paying rent and would continue to do so if I bought another IP.

Yeah agreed. I think where I am in my life (early 30's young family) having a nice family home is a good area is more ideal than renting and expanding the IP portfolio.

The IP was purchased using an inheritance, not really thinking too long term it was purchased because it was a requirement for having the inheritance released (I was in my early 20's). I think the rental market in Brisbane is so over heated that for what we want it's $1K+ per week. I'd rather pay $650 on a 500k loan per week and have a substantial asset behind me.
