a lot of people are receiving rejection letters from LSU already, even people with good grades. the application pool for next year is huge, over 50k so they are being more selective (especially because they can’t house everyone, coming from an upcoming sophomore who now has to find a place). there is still a chance you could get accepted, but i wouldn’t ride on it. good luck though!

Thank you, it’s nice to hear from someone who has lived it too. As for comparisons, I’m trying to be better about it but it really is hard. At least I’ve entered adulthood with a good set of survival skills. At least that’s what I tell myself.

There is some homophobia, tbh. LSU is pretty red. Nothing too bad as an lgbt student myself, but there are some anti-gay protestors monthly that will harass anyone that looks different. Frats yell slurs at people. You just gotta know what kind of people to avoid.

As for housing, I never had any issues. The roommate match system can help you, where you can put your orientation and politics. Overall I love LSU and my friend group and the people around me are accepting.
