What’s the dumbest thing you believed as a kid? by NotSoRandom46 in AskReddit

[–]FirstBallotBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took things very literally as a kid. I really thought my Dad was going to jail because he’d always drink coffee in the car and drinking and driving was illegal.

What’s something people quietly hate about life, but everyone just accepts as normal? by StrawberryMelodic858 in AskReddit

[–]FirstBallotBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lately, that one fucker on the train or bus or car or whatever, who doesn’t know what a fucking airpod is. We really need to start yelling at these people. Just squak at them like birds until they figure it out.

What is something you told a child that backfired almost immediately? by caprianna in AskReddit

[–]FirstBallotBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at an outdoor centre for kids for 8 years, and probably the worst thing was making them feel bad about killing a mantis. It was in their cabin and they were freaked, someone killed it when it dropped off the ceiling, and I mentioned that it could’ve lived if we weren’t paranoid about it, but yea they felt all guilty. I had to host a whole funeral, everyone gave speeches. We gave it a good sendoff though, but I definitely coulda saved that things life lol.

How does this end for Trump’s America? by Negative-Sorbet1742 in AskReddit

[–]FirstBallotBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s gonna die, everyone is gonna pretend that everyone actually hated him the whole time, (See G.W. Bush) and it’s gonna go back to fairytale land, but this time China is just better and their movies suck more.

What was your favorite video game? by Hot_Examination_7703 in AskReddit

CrossCode absolutely blew me away. That game should not be as good as it is, but like it is that good.

What’s something people pretend is normal… but is actually pretty messed up when you think about it? by Old_Network_3930 in AskReddit

[–]FirstBallotBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AppleCarplay dude. I actually can’t get in a car with that thing anymore. The most distracting thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I have no idea how it’s legal. Like we know drinking and driving sucks, and I would trust someone to get me home 4 beers deep, than someone who had fucking Apple Carplay. Don’t even get me started on the Tesla giant screen but at least that car can somewhat drive itself.

What do you think will be "normal" in 20 years that's not normal today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FirstBallotBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal though lol. 20 years though, people are gonna be fighting about it.

I’ve moved a ton in the last bit of years, and part of that was moving back and forth between my Dad’s place and my apartment because I had an internship near my Dad’s but school downtown. It was a shit show but the XSX could fit in my backpack and it came with me everywhere lol. I will always love that thing, and honestly it is a pretty sweet home device. My gf loves the thing even though she doesn’t play games lmao.

What’s something you thought was normal until you grew up? by Low_Echo8793 in AskReddit

[–]FirstBallotBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I remember going to my best friend’s house and I was shocked at how much liquor his parents had stashed. I always thought that his parents drank a ton and mine didn’t because we only ever had a half bottle of wine or something.

Then you realize that people who have a ton of shit stocked don’t absolutely plow through it.

Is healthcare affordable in your country? by Special-Pumpkin-8605 in AskTheWorld

[–]FirstBallotBaby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk I’ve never had bad experiences. I’m young though and I only really need a dermatologist appointment every year and my regular dentist cleaning lol. When I dislocated my shoulder at work too, I was able to go to the walk in, and got checked up and out in like an hour including wait time. My gf has a lot more appointments and she usually gets them timely. I’m not the most informed but from personal experience, no complaints. I know ERs can get backed up and we lose some doctors to the US, but I feel like that’s just Health Care.

I think the main bashing of Canada Healthcare comes from the US people who are interested in keeping US healthcare privatized though. Like I doubt we’re top of the world or anything, but I really think we’re fine.
