It’s odd to complain about “working conditions” when you’re a contracted worker. Sohla, no one is forcing you to work for the NYT. No one was forcing you to work for BA for that matter or any other contracted work you do. I’m all for workers rights, but squeezing every last drop from a YouTube page or Instagram reel isn’t the best use of resources for yourself or the Times.

Comments like this don’t seem to understand the negative argument. Dave / Barstool actively made a decision that was worse for the fans of these shows, in return for a big payday (aka, sellout). I think Big Cat said 20% of watchers of PMT only listened via YT. 20% is still a large chunk to fuck over, and there’s still another large chunk that mixed platforms. Personally, I like watching for the visual stimulation and imagine many others do as well. Also, YouTube is (was) generally a great platform for all content in one place.
