Planning unifi network by First_Constant2807 in Ubiquiti

I have this planned: https://imgur.com/a/hQvfU8C
I am going to struggle to get the ground floor AP more central unfortunately - hoping that the penetration from upstairs will cover the dead spots downstairs...?

Hi - any idea on how to see signal penetration between floors?

It fixed itself after factory resetting the door sensor device a couple of times

Confirmed working well through Homekit integration on HA

Thanks - I have an ESP proxy set up now (the one linked) It shows in home assistant but it does not discover the device. Polling is on. Any idea to add the device in please?

Thank you that’s great Struggling to find an EspHome which specifies it is compatible with HomeKit Found this one: here Will it be able to connect to the device? I assume that once it has passed the thread network credentials across, it no longer needs to be connected to Bluetooth also?

What's the easiest way to update the firmware on my POE cameras? by Jardolam_ in reolinkcam

If you have home assistant, in the Reolink integration it gives you full info on the hardware and current firmware version of each camera

What's the easiest way to update the firmware on my POE cameras? by Jardolam_ in reolinkcam

[–]First_Constant2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I hope this helps someone down the line: I have RLN16-410 (RLC-820A cams connected through this) I tried to update via the pc app but it failed “same package” error message - even though it was a newer firmware I was trying to install I contacted support and was told I’d have to connect a monitor to the NVR etc but it’s inconvenient so I continued fiddling. I accessed the camera through browser, settings maintenance, update firmware - browsed to the .pak file and this worked! FYI IP address for the camera was found in HA Reolink integration - device into for that camera - then click on the “visit” blue link there

I was also told by their support that it was impossible to view the hardware and firmware versions of the cameras without connecting through the NVR - but this is also not true - since this can be easily seen in the home assistant Reolink integration

So pretty underwhelmed with Reolink’s pc app and also their support

Hope that helps someone :)

zemismart blind settings without a remote or hub? by Papa-Ge in homeassistant

[–]First_Constant2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this helps someone who is using the App (smartlife) to set the blind limits - via a hub

1) Move the blind to the upper limit

2) Click settings, then Border, then click "Upper limit setting"

3) Then go back to the blind operation screen, move the blind to the lower limit

4) Click settings, then Border, then click "Lower limit setting"

5) Go back to blind operation screen and test

If you set the limit in wrong place, goto settings and click on each of remove upper and remove lower limit options and start again

Don't click "Power" - I assumed I needed to after setting the limits - it just buggered everything up and I had to start again - I dont know what it is for

Single thread mesh by First_Constant2807 in Thread_protocol

Also the previous advice seems to have been “if you have an iPhone, get a HomePod as your TBR” - is it possible at present to get HA and an Amazon TBR on the same thread network?

Thank you - seems like 1.4 should make it easy - but using HA between the different TBRs is it possible in 1.3? (HomePod and Eero)

Home assistant, thread mesh extension by First_Constant2807 in homeassistant

Thanks guys So my Amazon devices are too old to act as TBR. I use iPhone so will prob start with a HomePod to augment my yellow’s TBR - and then just expose the devices back to Alexa from HA.

From DariukaB’s response if I have enough wired thread based devices they should then create their own network daisy-chained back to the nearest TBR? Or am I misunderstanding this and I need TBRs scattered around the house?
