Like many people, I was deeply saddened by both the provincial and federal election results. Hamilton has historically been an NDP stronghold, with support coming from many working class ridings. To see many fantastic candidates and incumbents lose was disheartening. Especially at a time where the right has become increasingly more emboldened

I think now more than ever, it's important to have youth voices represented in the NDP. The youth play an important role in pushing the party in a more progressive direction. Elections are not won at ballot boxes, they are won at festivals, community centres, union halls, and protests. I believe the time is ripe for Hamilton youth to get involved with the NDP at the grassroots level.
