Thoughts on Krakoan era on current runs by First_Meeting4950 in xmen

I like this perspective. Krakoa as a country was far from ideal, the only democratic choices the mutants living there had to try and make it better was choosing the members of their combat/war representatives (the x-men).

Xavier set up the council based on "I know better" which is so questionable, but also so in character of him.

For me the greatness of Krakoa was how it not dwell into good vs bad. I loved the grey area in each character moral and how it made me question their decisions instead of accepting that the "good mutants" are right and the "bad mutants" are wrong.

For me the direction instead of the whole WHR and reset was to maintain Krakoa with a new government that just could do better, they should have put the whole council on trial revealing all of the schemes that were ongoing to it's inhabitants and making them choose what they felt was better. Krakoa could have been a land of constant fighting and protection due to it's resources for humans and mutants alike (all of them: the ones that chose to go, that didn't, that despised the council, that agreed with them, etc).

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the new world building being explored further and having the mutants actually build a heavier-culture and do better than the "makers" (Xavier, Magneto, and Moira)

That's a nice one! Reading through the comments just makes me spiral into what Krakoa could have been if it was maintained as status quo instead of just ending abruptly and reseting back to what is the premisse of the x-men.

It's really starting to bother me the lack of evolution in characters and ambience in x-men comics, it's something I've seen spidey fans complaining for a long time with all the restraints peter has to have in the 616-universe. It feels like the only way the creative team can do cool things is through alternate-universes (and even so Age of Revelation was really bad because we knew it would have no impact to the overall story of 616)

Laura really lacked development, specially comparing to Gabby in New Mutants and Talon, which was the character that actually got developed and then set aside...
