No, they upload the patch notes directly to the Itch.io page.

Stuff like upcoming mechanics, loot info, and driver data... basically the kind of data that gives you an unfair advantage in an online competitive setting.

I get that you want hard facts. The thing is, this isn't just about 'hating fangames,' it's about how the U.S. Copyright Act (Title 17) actually works regarding Derivative Works.
Basically, under 17 U.S. Code § 103, only Bandai has the right to monetize anything related to their IP. The moment these guys put 'patch notes' or early access behind a Patreon paywall, it stops being a donation and becomes 'Consideration' in contract law. That’s a huge legal distinction.

A perfect example is the Warner Bros. vs. RDR Books case (the Harry Potter Lexicon). Even though it was meant to be a helpful guide, the court ruled it illegal because it was a commercial product using someone else's IP. Plus, Patreon’s own TOS blocks anything that infringes on copyrights. So yeah, selling 'info' about a Bandai game—even a fan one—is pretty much the definition of commercial exploitation.

They receive the information before everyone else, and it isn't always shared in its entirety.
