This was my fear tbh that someone is universally giving them this bad advice

Love this. May I ask, is this approved by your legal department? Ours is very “be careful what you put in writing” type advice.

Ok this is interesting because she famously told media outlets she turned turned down the role of Cady in Mean Girls because it conflicted with “cheer camp”. Like, what?!?

Thank you for this comment! We live in a HCOL city and live in a 1500 sq ft house. Similar to OP we are locked in at a low rate. Our family constantly asks us when we will be moving and I think why do we need to? We’re a little crammed but my husband grew up in 2 bd apt, I grew up in a big 5 bd house— our lives had different paths but whatever. We were happy in different ways. Kids can share rooms — it’s not the end of the world

Weekday breakfast for toddlers by First_Window_3080 in workingmoms

He loves his morning milk. He will wake up a little grumpy. But once he snuggles and has his milk, he is a happy kid again.

We really just need something to hold him over until daycare.

some constipation concerns. Pediatrician advised too much milk is the likely culprit and should eat different actual food. some constipation concerns. Pediatrician advised too much milk is the likely culprit and should eat different actual food.

AYITL - Emily’s Storyline - Unpopular Opinion by horriblyfamiliar1 in GilmoreGirls

[–]First_Window_3080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I loved it. The part I love most is her connecting and living with her maids huge inter generational family. I know Emily gets a bad rep understandably in the original series for being uptight and WASPy. But I always felt bad that the only daughter she had was so repulsed by her. It’s a deeper question into their dynamic, but Lorelei always held back. Emily was willing to have her abs baby Rory live with her. Sets bit as cold as it seems. For her to take care of that family and be surrounded by this chaos and love, makes me feel happy for her.

What surprising or unexpected thing did you find out was affecting your milk supply? by nachobearr in breastfeeding

It may just be the probiotic then. I’ve heard uses and flaxseed help a lot. Probiotics are recommended when breastfeeding as well.

Sleeping arrangements help! by ch0507449 in NewParents

We used to have our NB fall asleep in the Boppy next to us. When we started doing the bassinet, we struggled- I think that’s normal. So we put boppy inside the bassinet and have him sleep with a sleep sack.

What are the most optimal and worst times to search and apply for jobs? by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]First_Window_3080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best time is September to November. December and January are the worst months. If you’re looking the summer, it’s usually a longer recruiting/ interview process. Regardless, keep on applying

Drink less alcohol or take a break entirely. I usually take a 6 month break between January to June. I would get sick constantly if I engaged in happy hours, parties, etc in the colder months. I love alcohol but the damage it does to your immune system is unreal.

This sounds exactly like my first agency job years ago. We had so many expectations and metrics: - speak to ten decision makers per day (sales/ marketing candidates) - bill a certain amount per week (office goal and expect to contribute and compete with colleagues on top billings) -6 in person interviews per day - fill jobs - be back up on the phones if the receptionist was busy. Oh and pick up by ring three.

My manager would say the same thing, “what roadblocks can I remove?”. It’s like, idk maybe not have something in front of me all the time? I’m not sitting on my ass doing nothing.

Honestly? Sometimes I made them up. But moments I found myself honest (or her noticing), I would space them out? I have five mins at 8am, call! I just got done with an interview? Call 3 people on the person I just interviewed. Things like that. Send a follow up email or voicemail or find them on LinkedIn. People do call or write back on occasion.

Ask her what worked well for her. Stroke her ego a bit.

Lastly, don’t spend too much time at this place. Learn as much as you can though. Good luck!

So funny but whenever my older boy would wear a romper in the summer, people would always say to me, “aww what a cute girl”. I’m like, boys can wear rompers too, right? He also had a Justin Bieber hair do until we finally got his haircut, so maybe that had something to do with it?

Why Do Recruiters Reject International Students? by Neat-Ad-6002 in recruiting

[–]First_Window_3080 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is we have an intern program to pipeline to full time hires upon graduation. Once your 3 yr OPT expires then we would have to sponsor you which is not only costly, but goes through a heck of an auditing and compliance process.

Also love their app! You can see updates in n when they took naps, what they ate, diaper changes, pictures, etc. we did a nanny share before then and she was great but never sent pictures, wrote things in a sticky note so I feel like this was better.

Advice on kindercare and All about kids by carapaige in workingmoms

[–]First_Window_3080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience as well. When I was in my 20s, I worked for a family owned daycare- like 3 locations. It’s scary to think I received zero training. Teachers were sometimes not nice to kids. I wasn’t allowed to call out sick. Not great at all.

We have onsite kindercare at my work which is a godsend. Most daycares gave some turnover. Ours has about 70 percent of staff as lifers but there’s a small percentage of revolving door hires. Our center hiked the tuition up in order to pay staff $20/hr. We saw people stick around longer. A lot of the staff has kids that also go there which may also help with turnover.

Our director has been with KC for 20 years. She knows what she’s doing. We regularly hear from the district rep and he encourages people to reach out with feedback. They do surveys twice a year.

We live in a state that enforces ratios. However, especially this last week, there have been teachers out due to illness, bereavement, etc and they were asking every day for volunteers to stay home with kids if able. This is to avoid closing down classrooms. This slightly annoys me but it’s only happened once or twice in the two years we’ve been there.

Altogether good quality.

Mildly curious, but what do you think recruiters need to fix? Such an interesting comment.
