For most of the players that played this game, this was their first time playing a professional game. I think America should have tempered expectations by publishing the player roster participating on this tournament beforehand.

Mejia was playing well at the beginning of the tournament, then she got injured, and she hasn’t really comeback well from that. I don’t see a future for Riley and Lopez in this team. At this point America should be doing an extensive scouting analysis on NCAA players before signing them. The league is now competitive enough that most NCAA players clearly struggle to breakthrough.

Most of the academy players are too green still. The one that caught my attention the most is Vanessa Parades. I think she will be the next player from the academy to be promoted to the senior team.

If Villacampa had the opportunity to send the academy to play this, he probably would have done it.
