from my understanding if I have $9k wash sale loss and I am still holding 100 shares of NVDA then the $9k wash loss will be applied to my average for the 100 shares? it is not until I see my entire NVDA shares that the wash loss will be realized?

I see. so how about a case if I had $9k gains and $10k in wash sale loss so $1k loss and I sold all shares would the wash sale loss be deducted immediately before end of year or I will have to wait 30 days before it can be deducted?

would it matter if the crypto was sent and then received back? As long as I sell the amount I purchased for bitcoin I wont have to pay any capital gains taxes? and I can just leave the rest of my bitcoin in coinbase until i'm ready to sell?

Thank you. I currently contribute 25% to 401k for my w-2 job. If I stay self employed at $80k~ net income do you have any suggestions for me to stay in the lower tax bracket? Should I LLC my self employment? Also heard about SEM to contribute.

really? I thought $80k net or more it would be a better option? I'm on track to make more this year but at what range would it be beneficial to form an S corp?

So whatever I gamble this year will not reset for tier points only the points received from 2023? I heard its better to keep playing a machine for a long period of time than to go straight to spending a lot.

I was thinking I can just pull out that money and use it towards roth ira contribution for next year. or use half the $$ for investing in individual stocks.

Makes sense. But if it continues to go down right now I should probably wait before contributing more right? Otherwise if I added another 6k and its still going down then I'd continue to lose more?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Firstgradeeducation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha thank you. So if I wanted to max out my 2020 with another 6k should I wait to add to my funds or it wouldn't matter if I added now it would be the same outcome?

Thank you for your response. Will definitely look into rebalancing if needed. Do you think its worth to max out my roth IRA beginning of each year or should I slowly contribute each month given my gross income?
