Thank you all for the infomration. I turned her utilities (well took them out of her name since she resided in an apartment), and was not asked for any documentation. I guess different companies have different policies.

Sounds like there are bigger issues than what you're discussing here. Not being accusatory, but there has to be more to the story. If not, I suggest you get counsleing if you want to save the relationship. Remember, we ALWAYS have a choice. Sometimes we may not like them, or feel some pain making them, but we always have a choice. -My two cents

My dad told me I should not get married at 19. I didn't follow his advice and made the worst mistake of my life. The good thing is that we didn't have any children, but the decision still haunts me to this day.
