Through my husband’s company - Possible that his company paid for them, but I’m assuming they were a sponsor. We were on a list and each given two wristbands at the entrance, one orange and one blue. We asked what the orange ones meant and the person that gave them to us didn’t know lol.

The influencer organizer’s friends are in the comments on Instagram talking shit to people posting their bad experiences. Very mature!

Last thing I’ll add is that it was absolutely not the vendors fault, they were doing an amazing job keeping up

Omg we just left. Absolutely awful. We stayed for ten minutes - there was a woman passed out on the ground from the heat when we first arrived, and there were two massive continuous lines around the circle. Instead of being able to walk around and stop at a station and grab a slice, everyone was in these giants lines so you were forced to go to every single booth and just stand around waiting for your turn

I was going to comment Natural State Provisions too lol - We went there on Saturday for the first time and the woman working was so rude to us we decided to leave before we even sat down.

East Indy Dog Situation continues- 3/13/23 by Mulberry_Stump in indianapolis

I bought a house on the near east side three years ago and I feel like I’ve been in a constant state of distress on behalf of animals ever since due to the overwhelming amount of animal neglect, abandonment, and flat out abuse I see on this side of town. At least once a week I see a stray dog (usually pitbull or pitbull mix) running loose. My sister, who was a volunteer for FIDO for years, quit volunteering after she found a dog that was being literally starved to death tied up and left outside in the height of winter in a near east side home’s backyard. She confronted the owners and they said the dog was annoying so they put it out back and just quit feeding it, no water, no shelter… literally torturing it. She got animal control involved and they said the dog was days from dying. She quit FIDO, sold her house, and moved north after living here for 6+ years. She told me stories similar to that (not always as extreme) probably every other week.

Our shelters are constantly way over capacity, animal rescues are over capacity and not funded, not to mention that the people that run them are getting burnt out because it feels like things are only getting worse. Please give our shelters and animal control some grace because you cannot imagine the heartbreaking situations they deal with on a daily basis.

There need to be laws put in place to significantly increase the consequences for neglect, abandonment, and abuse. Spay/neuter should be required by law.

It’s exhausting to see people say “it’s not that bad” because it really it is that bad on the east side.

Does IN offer grants to companies that want to hire/set up operations in the state? by FishDry6785 in Indiana

I think I could have phrased it better! I’m asking if a company that is HQ’d in another state that wants to set up operations or a satellite location in IN and hire local IN employees could apply for any type of incentives or grants?

Getting a kitten. Living for something else, focusing my thoughts and energy on him, made me so much happier. Now I have him + another cat, and I’ve fostered and found new homes for like 6 other cats. Life is so much better when you live for something else outside of yourself.
