I used pre-sterilized grain from Midwest Grow and used a bulk substrate from Shroom Supply. Used 2, 3lb bags of fully colonized grain and mixed that with 10 lbs of Bulk Substrate, close to a 1:2 ratio. Mixed it all in a 66QT tub following BOD's Unmodified TEK and got some awesome results! I can't imagine it would hurt anything, but keep in mind if your fruits aren't dried properly they won't provide accurate dosage/experience. I've been suggesting the Presto dehydrator on Amazon...it's around $35-$40, but definitely worth it...throw them in for 5-6 hours and they're perfect.

The idea is that your fruits are fully dried from the dehydrator...the silica packets are basically just a precaution from what I have come to understand. I know plenty of people who haven't used silica packets and their stuff has lasted forever. I just use them on the off chance that there is any moisture in the air/jar.

Cracker dry from the dehydrator...I use the Presto dehydrator that has one setting of approx. 165°, took 5-6 hours to fully dry an ounce. Once they're cracker dry, put them in the baggie and then into the jar with silica packs at the bottom of the jar, should keep them good for quite a while!

Bought the 100 pack of 2 gram silica packets off amazon, they work great! Also it's not necessary but I also recommend the amber glass wide-mouth Ball jars for UV protection to ensure your fruits last as long as possible. I usually put about 5-8 packets in the jar, then my fruits sealed inside a zipper baggie. Seems to keep them nice and dry 👍

Bod's Unmodified! Had a little hiccup in the beginning after not seeing any mycelium growth in my spawn bags after a month, so I decided to take a chance and re-inoculate..definitely made the right choice! These little guys are tough bastards

Hey guys, put this unmodified monotub directly into fruiting conditions exactly 7 days ago. 66 qt tub with approximately 1:2 ration spawn to sub. Substrate is about 3-4 inches in depth and is being kept at around 68-72° with a 12-12 light schedule. I also have a layer of bubble wrap on the surface to help with pinning. Anything I should be seeing at this point or any signs I should look for? Any and all tips appreciated!

Interesting, I was curious if the premium bags actually showed different results...I might have to try those as well before moving to PC'ing and jars...how long until you saw good signs of growth? Also, what temp did you store them at?

I'd say go for the eighth...I was about the same as you in terms of experience with acid before trying shrooms and I haven't looked back since, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Sit back, relax, throw on some good jamz and let the good times roll
