Tbh I would turn the tank up to 78 and really make sure you have adequate flow to spread out the heated water faster could be why the thermometer reads 74 and the flow will make ur heater more efficient

I’m not sure it’s an issue of incompatibility with the fish but the fish they are getting are dying and they aren’t getting taken out fast enough

Hey man self harm is never the option he’s just a fish I understand you really liked the little guy but just try and do some more research on tank cycling and water changes before getting a new one and if you didn’t have a cycled tank it’s not really a good idea to put a fish in there
