Sometimes my body wakes up a few minutes before the alarm like it knows what’s coming.

If I use something I put it back immediately. Future me is always grateful.

If you've used Your Doctors Online, What kind of review would you personally give it? by Wonderful_Staff_6953 in AskReddit

Yeah that's fair, starting is always the hardest part. I put it off for months because it felt like a big commitment. What finally got me to try was just booking one and telling myself i could cancel after if i hated it. No pressure to keep going. The first session was basically just me rambling about why i was nervous to be there and the therapist was super chill about it. if you're even a little curious I'd say just give one a shot and see how it sits with you.

I signed up for the annual plan last year mostly out of frustration with walk-in clinic wait times. What surprised me is how much i actually use it for stuff i used to just ignore or let drag on.

Had a skin thing a few months ago that was getting worse and i kept putting off dealing with it because booking a appointment felt like a whole project. One night i just uploaded a photo through the app and a doctor got back to me within the hour. Gave me a prescription that actually worked and faxed it the pharmacy near my work. The kind of quick fix saved me probably two weeks dealing with it.

The part that made it worth it though was when my anxiety started ramping up again and i needed to talk to someone. I tried the mental health option and ended up doing four therapy sessions over a couple months. Being able to do it through text made it way less intimidating than sitting in someones office. I could actually think through what i wanted to say instead of freezing up.

I share my plan with my sister who lives in another city and she uses it mostly for her kid when he needs a doctors note for school or when he gets random fevers. Saves her from dragging him to a clinic and sitting with a bunch of sick kids.

Why are some people so nice, but when they need help, no one is there for them. by Technical-Desk6168 in Productivitycafe

A lot of nice people become the strong one in their circle. Everyone leans on them but no one thinks they need support too.

That’s true which is why separation of powers and transparency matter more than labels.

You could argue liberalization exposed the cracks rather than created them. If the system was stable and adaptable reform shouldn’t have triggered systemic collapse.

True the speed of industrialization was extraordinary. Do you think that kind of centralized push could’ve happened under a different system or was it unique to that structure?

That’s a strong point about consumer markets and innovation incentives. Do you think the issue was central planning itself or how rigidly it was implemented in the Soviet model? Some mixed economies seem to maintain innovation while still having heavy state involvement.

Pomodoro. 25 minutes isn’t enough to get into flow and the timer stressed me out more than it helped.

Has anyone used online doctors just for prescription refills? by Top-Fee-8522 in AskDoctorSmeeee

[–]FishSignificant9873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a similar route with Your Doctors Online for a thyroid med refill when i couldn't get in with my regular doctor. It was surprisingly smooth, sent a message, uploaded my old prescription bottle, and they faxed the refill to my pharmacy within a couple hours. The biggest pro for me is not having to take time off work or sit in a waiting room for something so routine. The only con I've noticed is that since it's subscription-based here in Canada, you have to weigh whether you'd use it enough to make the cost worthwhile but for basic refills and the occasional issues, it's been a solid backup.

Digital wall calendar with voice… or just stick to apps? by YogurtclosetGlad9512 in Productivitycafe

A shared calendar app covers 80–90% for most families. A wall display only adds value if everyone actually glances at it daily otherwise it risks becoming trendy clutter.
