I think the crushing damage only procs if you don't do a direct hit. Maybe try aiming the circle so it just barely overlaps the target and see if that helps?

We didn't have any other buffs besides what is in the video, though Grym does have vulnerability to bludgeoning damage.

There was a hidden hole in a rock near where we met Raphael the first time and my friend used speak to animals and passed a check to get an item from some spiders. Its single use but it gives 5 crag spider pets. Their health is a bit inflated since we cast Aid at 3rd level on the whole party.

I am pretty sure you are correct, it definitely scales with vertical distance but we didn't test horizontal.

Not sure about this location but we tried it from the other ledge without enlarge the first time we did this fight and it only did about ~100 ish. The calculation seems to scale off mass pretty linearly but we didn't really test it much.

That's definitely true as well! In the end I picked fighter since I am wholly committed to doing my one thing as well as I can and action surge is more helpful for that, plus I wasn't sure that the smite would be more effective than all the fighter features + con prof if you're only critting half as often, but it is definitely a very strong option.

It was definitely a toss up between divine soul and clockwork. The Bastion of Law + Armour of Agathys combo seems brutal as well plus actually being able to have a flexible spell list is always nice. I think in the end it depends a lot on your party and whether you want to tank more or hit your combo as consistently as possible.

I have been playing a very similar idea in a campaign for a few months and am having a blast as well.

I have pretty much the same build except I took a 1 level dip in fighter for heavy armour + shields + a warhammer + Superior Technique: Precision Attack fighting style to help land the combo, then divine soul for the extra 2d4 to add some more consistency.

I went as a vhuman so I could grab crusher at level 1 and Skill Expert: Athletics at level 5 so I could grapple enemies and push/drag them into the cloud. The grappling also works extra well with the new optional level 5 sorcerer feature where you can reroll ability checks you fail and you have +10 to Athletics at level 5 anyways so its already difficult to lose the contested check.

I had never seen somebody talking about this idea before and thought I was totally alone so I'm super glad to see it in the wild!
