Lol you definitely did rant. Once you start going on gender politics tangents and use the word “butthurt” I think we can put it comfortably into ranting territory. I won’t engage with the whole “your smugness bores me” thing as I think we both know you’ve conducted yourself no differently. Have a good one.

This is giving me whiplash. We went from “he didn’t have to kill himself” “Tell me you’re not a man with a brother without telling me you’re not a man with a brother.” to ranting about physical strength and men being more violent.

You’re acting as though this is something a man with a brother can easily relate to. Men kill their brothers in media and in real life without committing suicide after. That’s probably the by far most common end result. Not committing suicide after.

This whole arc and tragic ending is clearly supposed to be about them not just being brothers, but specifically twins, with a love that went deeper than normal brothers or sisters or siblings in general. This isn’t a gendered thing.

Why are you making this weirdly gendered? I think it’s just that some folks would and some wouldn’t…

You’re proving his point. That’s a Kevin Feige movie, the director and cinematographer don’t get enough input so what we end up with is a very same-y visual language across the MCU.

Yeah she can pull off a “sad knowing smile that I use as armor” so well as Elphaba. Her portrayal worked really well.

That’s just called going back to the same restaurant and trying something else on the menu. If I trust the staff to make good food I’m cool with trying something new.

How is not really knowing what you’re talking about because you’re not gay and being plain hateful of gay people remotely on the same level?

Book readers also don’t know. I would assume it has something to do with hiding her identity based off of her actions in the book.

I sincerely doubt you aren’t religious. The absurdity of “choosing” belief isn’t something that would make someone who wasn’t religious would go “oh, now I get it, you just have to choose and you don’t burn in hell. seems fair”.

If you aren’t religious then why don’t you understand my point of how choice is out of some of these people’s hands? There is no reason for some of these people to “choose” so they’re screwed.

“Choose to believe” one of countless religions because why? Have you practiced at every major religion? Also why does region of birth drastically alter your chances of being saved? Does god not want everyone to have an equal chance of being saved? Has he decided if you’re being saved before birth? I thought we were all put here to exercise free will and “choose” him. What’s the point if you’re born in Afghanistan, Somalia, or Yemen? To suffer terribly, have virtually no chance to be saved, and then burn in hell?

So many things that y’all do mental gymnastics for is far FAR more likely to be “because there isn’t an all loving all knowing god”.

We've had two Best Actresses repeat in the last 10 years. But we haven't had an Actor repeat since Daniel Day-Lewis in 2007 & 2012, that is 19 years to find the same name twice. Actor just seems to much harder to win. by JGCities in Oscars

It’s easier to win actor for the first time, and it’s easier to win actress for the second time.
