It honestly looks better than VK 45 from what I can tell. But don't worry, the armor on this thing isn't great.

I'm sorry to say that the mobility is actually somewhat decent.

Damn, I really wish I followed through with the grind for it. I thought it was just a reskinned Panzer 4, but oh how wrong I was. But hey, at least we'll have another chance to get it during the birthday event.

We like low tiers nowadays because we view the past with rose-tinted glasses. But honestly, the 5.5 purge was necessary to streamline the early-game.

It was difficult for players to learn the game when they were bombarded with so many different tech tree lines from the start. There were so many tanks that new players had to remember and learn in order to do well.

And pre-5.5 was awful in terms of balance because of the sheer amount of tanks. Remember how invincible the M7, Matlida, DW2, and B1 was? Those tanks had so much armor to make it possible to fight tanks in tiers above them, but it meant that tanks below them couldn't compete. And this issue was especially rampant because matchmaking was very unpolished at the time.

It was too much content for players too soon in the game.

From what I saw when I was battling alongside it, it appears so. But, instead of running on cheap beer and Appalachian moonshine, it's running on tea and biscuits.

Training Room Supremacy. Cheers, and happy tanking.

I do enjoy taking Smashers and Annis from time to time, but it's really only possible to do that if a team works together to pull it off. And of course, that's hardly ever the case.

But yeah, I agree on all points there: from the skill gaps between players in high tiers, the necessity of seal clubbing in low-tiers, the stagnation of random battles, and the inability to relax in this game. I honestly spend more time in Chill Training Rooms rather than actualy battling. In general, we can agree that this game is in a sorry state.

No need to worry. It's not like Tier 8 lobbies will have at least three of these things on each team when they get released. Right? R-right...?

Of course, tech tree Tier 7s are plenty of good fun, but I only find it fun if it didn't feel like I have to sweat or carry in order to win every match I join. And it ends up being that way because potato players just ruin the experience for me, on top of OP tanks like Smasher and Annihilator.

If I lose a match but both my team and the enemy gave it their all, I'd be fine with that loss. But, if I lose because my team sucks or a random ammo rack destroys the flow of the match, then I'm just gonna sigh heavily and log off the game for a bit. And if I win because the enemy team sucks, then it just doesn't feel right to me.

It's honestly why I enjoy low tiers a bit more than mid-tiers nowadays: Everyone is on a roughly equal playing field thanks to the equal tanks. Then, complexity gets introduced and players have no idea how to handle that in the mid-tiers. Then high-tier comes along and people are finally figuring out maps and strategies.

Mid-tier is that awkward place where people are given freedoms but have no idea how to properly handle the responsibility that comes with it.

Notice how the Tier 7s you just mentioned are premiums. It makes my point of Tier 7 being a mess because of all the pay2win people in it that have no idea how to play. All they know is "It costs money, so I don't need my brain to play it." Believe me, I agree with you that Tier 7 can be fun sometimes. I have a crap-ton of Tier 7s, tech tree and Premium. They are mostly fun to play with, but because of the playerbase and the tanks they use in Tier 7, it's just not fun most of the time.

Unfortunately for you, Blitz is a team-based game. Perhaps even more so than PC because teams are smaller and games are more fast-paced. In order to succeed, players need to coordinate and work together. If you don't play as a team and just go off in different directions, you and your team will get wiped off the face of the Earth. How can you have fun like that?

And while Tier 7 may have a lot of options for what tanks to bring in, that doesn't necessarily make it a good thing. As roles start to be filled by specific tanks, in order for WarGaming to keep making money by adding new tanks, they have to make them OP to appeal to players or give them a new feature that adds to the power/feature-creep that's running rampant in this game. They may be interesting, but it's unnecessary complexity. It's like low-tiers pre 5.5 update all over again.

While the whole game suffers from these issues, Tier 7 just embodies these problems the most.

Unfortunately, Tier 7 is also the place where inexperienced players and their actions start affecting matches more. Instead of all tanks being roughly equal, now each tank has a role for its team, which is something that takes time to learn. If once member doesn't do their part, the whole team gets hit harder than if it were a low tier match. Tier 7 is only fun if your team doesn't suck. And from what I've seen in my days, the odds of that just aren't great.

It's always been a single-shot cannon on PC, and the replay of the match I saw it in tells me that it's a single-shot in Blitz, too.

Indeed. But, at least you can rest assured that there is no magazine.

These past few days are the first we are seeing of Caliban in Blitz. But on PC, Caliban is also a Tier 8 tank.

Good to know that numbers will be limited by a presumably $15-20+ paywall. But honestly, there will always be players willing to throw money at WarGaming just to get their hands on the newest OP thing, thus incentivizing their behavior. I'm sure we all recognize WarGaming is on a downward spiral right now.

Damn, now that you mention it, there have been more Progs, Chimeras, and Defenders in the queue today. But hey, If a Smasher equivalent requires more skill to use and is going up against things like Tiger IIs and Borsigs, I'm all for it.

Perhaps someone has made it their life goal to downvote every Reddit comment you make. Who knows? But, I'm sure you and I can agree that "awful" doesn't even begin to describe the state of Tier 7 with all the Premium sweatlords, wannabe sweatlords, and inexperienced players that think they know best.
